Big Pete, excellent work - thanks. it's both tricky and expensive for me to call from here, but will try.

This is actually about the new one rather than the Manics one I think

This is actually getting beyond ridiculous now. Seen as nobody who ordered online has seemingly had theirs delivered, are they seriously suggesting they ALL got lost in the post? I'm not massively bothered about the item itself tbh, I ordered more out of habit than anything else, but if they're not going to sort this out I want my money back.

i just forwarded this and all the other mails to every address i could find on the Q magazine website

Dear Someone / Anyone at Q Magazine

Please look at the below. This is your magazine’s name and reputation being destroyed.

Over a month ago I pre-ordered the Manic Street Preachers edition of Q Magazine. My account has been debited and the edition, with the record, has not been sent. The only response is that they “cannot trace my order” which is nonsense as I got an email confirmation and my account debited.

They are no longer responding to my mails, they are just issuing me with reference number after reference number.

It is quite surprising that you are allowing your good name and reputation to be destroyed by this. It is not just me – no one who has ordered from the site you directed people to has got their copy delivered yet. Please refer to the website foreverdelayed.org.uk and look at the discussion thread called “Q Magazine edition of National Treasures”.

I really hope someone responds to this soon, it is incredibly frustrating.

don't know if it will work or do any good, but we shall see.

Yep that's my point...the fact that they're reassuring subscribers that the new issue is on its way when we haven't got the old one yet!

I'm with you - it's more about the principle of the thing than the actual bloody vinyl.

And I made that point to the guy on the phone that Royal Mail must have lost them all then...stony silence on the other end of course.

Oh, by the way ... I tip I learnt from one of my many phone calls to them on this ... if the operator you speak to cannot locate this specific order (if you have other orders or magazine subscriptions with them) ask the operator to look at the "products" page on their screen. There they will find this order.

My first few calls to them were them denying I'd even made the order cos they couldn't find it! This was until one of them actually had a brain and looked in this location on their system.

Everytime I've rang em, my bullshit detector has been going wild. For some reason I speak to the same guy everytime I ring. Im quite tempted to to tell him that his craicks shit. I'd Imagine if your after a refund it's easer to deal with bank/mastercard/visa.

Mine too ... and I called them out on that today ... "you're making it up and you know you are and that's unacceptable" was a sentence I uttered on several occasions.

Operator : "This is a free gift so you have to wait 28 days"
Me : "No it isn't ... it's a product I ordered, not a free gift, therefore the 28 days does not apply"
Operator : "It does apply"
Me : "No it doesn't. Plus, on the product order page for this (which is still live on your website) it states 10 days, not 28"
Operator : "The 28 days still applies"
Me : "Again, it doesn't and anyway, I ordered this on the 27th September and that's 29 days ago"

Silence ensued ...

They really don't have a leg to stand on.

I said, well if you post it to me, you wasting time and money as Im only going to return as I'm entitled to do so during the cool off period of 7 days from recieving the goods.

He responds: That information is incorrect your cool off period expires 14 days from us taking payment.

I respond with: you took payment on the 10th, its now the 14th, Id like to cancel it in the way you just mentioned.

He responds: I cant do that its been dispatched.

I also mentioned this thread to him and he said "its neither here nor there".

Your absolutely spot on, they're just making it up. The reality of the situation is, they probably cant sell it while its on the shelves in Smiths due to a breach of contract. Its probably some kind of exclusive.

I've just called them, and had same answer of that the magazine was sent and it must be a royal mail problem, and that they'd resend it within next 7-10 days. I said this is not good enough and asked the girl to send it recorded delivery. She said no! So I asked her to speak to her supervisor as the magazine clearly hasn't been sent and the payment was debited 3 weeks ago, she came back on after a few mins and said they will speak to publishers and get it sent and should receive by Saturday. I live In hope.

What an utter shambles this has all turned out to be! Sorry for people who are still waiting for items they should have received by now!
