all i can suggest is that everyone here do what i did and bombard Q themselves with copies of mails sent and, if you are lucky, piss poor replies from great magazines.

qmail@qthemusic.com

editor@qthemusic.com

and for the hell of it

qradio@qthemusic.com

you never know, someone there might care that their name and reputation are being trashed and do something.

I was told that they had stock and that they would send me mine today (or tomorrow) via Signed For mail.

I took the opportunity to point out that I'd had to call them 4 times to get to this point. That I'd had 2 previous broken promises for a supervisor to call me. That I'd been given 3 or 4 explanations as to why there was a delay (same as others, i.e. it's been posted already, it's not been posted yet, you have to wait 28 days for us to deliver it or, the final one today, you have to wait till WHSmiths returns the unused issues before we can fulfill the order) ... all of which were complete rubbish.

I asked them to investigate the issue internally and to push a message out to all people that had pre-ordered to tell them what was going on and when they would send out everyone's orders. This is hopefully to save us all having to complain separately.

I happily informed them about how people were publicly complaining about this debacle and that bad press was not going to help them.

Oddly, they asked me if their operators knew this was a "stock item" rather than a back issue or a free gift?! "Clearly, that's not my issue", was my reply! They also stated that their systems had been changed over which would account for some of the delay ... again "not my issue" was my reply.

I certainly won't be dealing with this company again, not matter what the product.

If you are unhappy at the situation and/or they don't take my complaints seriously and push out a message, I would urge you all to call rather than e-mail, because only that way can you get them to understand what you're asking them. Their number is 01858 438866

*sorry for the essay ... just trying to help other in the same boat out with my story*
I have called that number, which Manic Street Mania posted on Twitter. I had been charged for 2 copies when I had ordered 3, so I will get 1 sent out for free. They told me to give them 7-10 dyas and if I have not received my order by then, to call them back.

Is there an email template you know like "I am one of many customers ... " perhaps if we all sent the same message they might get the message ?

In cases like these it's far better to send individually crafted messages: several different looking letters clearly coming from clearly different, unique people is far more effective than a spam torrent of identikit emails.

I called them today and they said it was dispatched on the 5th of October and 'obviously' it had been lost in the post. I have 7 days to wait for a replacement.........

I got a reply from Bauer Media (@bauermedianews) today to one of my tweets (yes, I believe in public embarassment via all forms of social media when a company piss me off) and they actually replied.

I sent them a link to this very forum page to highlight all of the issues.

They replied with "Thanks for drawing this to our attention and I apologise for all the inconvenience caused. Please contact me straight away if you have any further problems. "

So, I have a direct person to write to now should anything else go wrong.

In fairness to her, I shall refrain from posting her e-mail address here, but I can give it to people direct if they're struggling.

However, if all else fails, it's another person at the company who is now aware of the issue and therefore may sort it out once and for all.

I really pity the person who has to read the email I just sent them.

I've sent an e-mail to the woman who contacted me about the fact they'd got me down as a Mr rather than a Miss on the dispatch label as well. I got that e-mail 11 days ago and still no sign of it in the post, so I've asked for an update and also highlighted the fact that this is a widespread problem amongst Manics fans, so 'lost in the post' seems rather unlikely.

I'm going to ring them now, partly because it's ridiculous, partly because I need to vent some steam, and partly just for fun.
