do not panic. the National Treasures Box Set constantly moves from being "sold out" to "freely available" on the MyPlayDirect store thing. i have no doubt that on release date the web site will say it is sold out, then in a couple of weeks it will be available again.

meanwhile, it appears that i have gone and ordered the mother fucker. doing a quick calculation and it has worked out for me that this + courier fee comes in at around a few pence short of £50 for me, but no doubt i will get spanked with an import tax when it arrives.

i never, ever thought i would say this but, on the basis of all that we know and all we have seen, Sony have got it right on this one, and have clearly learnt from the NT Box issues.

Calling it a book is a bit generous, that's definitely a booklet. Still, looks like a good set, will get it.

Cheers. I can order before the release date so hopefully it will still be in stock then!

Talking Good if not great news

I hoped the book was not just a booklet, but ...

Well, as I did for the last albums, I went for both the box and the deluxe versions, knowing the box will be looked at only a few times and the bonus CD will be listened just on the i-Pod.

Do we really need a replica of the pass instead of sometiming more serious (like a replica of an early t-shirt, for instance)?

For the Peruvian mate, I can only suggest to find a friend in UK or US, pay him/her and then have the box re-shipped, unless he/she wants to wait for a copy to appear on e-bay.

Cheers

if it helps i have placed my order today and nothing on my acc yet, not even a "pending movement" for the amount. i will try and remember to check over the next couple of days.

good business practice, and indeed the law in some places (not sure where exactly this item ships from) says that you should not charge until the item is shipped, but also to protect themselves some places put a "pending transaction" on the amount so they don't ship something and all of a sudden one does not have the funds on their card.

Disapointment here too, obviously we don't have the same definition of what a book is. Since one of these definitions is 'A set of written, printed, or blank pages fastened along one side and encased between protective covers', we should be happy there are things printed on it. The good news is I'm going to spend less with the legacy edition.

This is a really good price and there's enough in there to justify doing this, so it's a thumbs up from me - I think £45 with free shipping is more than fair, have to say the record company have got this about right

I don't mind buying the box set but I fucking hate the cover of that album. I don't want a picture of a massive nipple gracing my record collection!

I think they've got some sort of thing for half naked bodies.... the covers of THB, PFAYM & GT - oh, and Lifeblood has one too....

The special edition boxed set on the site comes out to like $72 USD...definitely more affordable than National Treasures, but still too steep for me

So what cd is missing from the legacy edition, the B-sides? I could care less about the vinyl, but I'd like the remastered B-sides. I have some of them already, but the fact that everything is remastered changes things heh.

At least you still get the DVD with the legacy edition!
