The artwork reminds me of R.E.M. and the clip reminds me of R.E.M.

It's better than being reminded of Steps.

Love the artwork, I for one hope it is that!

Can't hear the sample as on mobile in the arse end of nowhere. Anyone feel like attempting a blow-by-blow description?

Mostly plucked semi-arpeggio-style guitar with subtle atmospheric background sounds before some echoey muted-sounding bass comes in with the vocal, very light percussion, oodles of reverb on the background chords/sounds... "Rewind the film, again / I'd love to see the joy, my friends / Rewind the film, again.... "(clip fades out)

Sounds very unlike PFAYM I'd say (that's for you, I liked PFAYM).

Yes, I supppose it does sound quite like the beginning of Door To The River actually, now you point that out, closer to that than most other Manics songs anyway I'd say...

The other song your description called to mind was This Joke Sport Severed... two of my favourites anyway. Hopefully the PFAYM debacle was just a blip

Well, yes maybe a little bit ... probably more DTTR than TJSS. I do agree with my description. Anyone else care to give a second opinion?

(ignores blip comment about... D'oh!)

I love both those songs too, I didn't really get either from the clip but perhaps when there's more to go by. There's a b-side it reminds me of and I can't think which...

Reminds me of those sort of songs by way of a Berlin era Bowie track from the B side of an LP, but a more stripped back version of.

Probably too bigger picture to paint from a 30 second clip, but I'm just trying to get a frame of reference for Stu.

Appreciated. Sounds very intriguing I must say! Half expecting Sean to kick in with the "Care line care line care line..."
