The Manic Street Preachers were originally called Bonnie Johnnie Jovial but changed it at the behest of Phillip Hall, although not to his suggestion of 'Stoic Shitter Nerve End', which was declined on the basis that it was stolen from JG Ballard.

James Dean Bradfield's guitar is never plugged in. His guitar parts are played by Richey, who remains backstage, having left the band in protest at having to pretend to be "the rubbish one."

Nicky is allergic to carpets. Sean briefly worked as a Freddie Mercury impersonator at Butlins, Minehead. Richey actually wrote High School The Musical.
