Then a bloke took out five album covers to get signed and I knew that my chance had gone at that point! Still, I do now have a pic of the event so can't complain!
So annoying but at least you got something signed.

Also, I've just noticed that TGW stands for The Great Western AND The Gutless Wonder...gosh, I am on top form tonight!! LOL

I went to the show without any idea of what the setlist would be comprised of for once, except I guessed Stay Beautiful would be somewhere in there (and not first) after seeing the Twitter update days before, so was a bit disappointed that setlist wasn't close to my dream realistic list. When James started the Let Robeson Sing introduction with "this one's off Know Your Enemy" it was meant to be Found That Soul (and then I find out later that the played it in Hamburg), and James wouldn't expect a dash to the bar if 1985 was the Lifeblood choice. But, overall it was a good set, and I'm glad they kept Enola/Alone and My Little Empire from the last set of dates.

I was crushed and could barely move for most of it unfortunately, with a complete prick to one side of me, and the big protective boyfriend type to the other who would always be the one to push back forcefully when the crowd move into him. His girlfriend looked like she could handle herself anyway, and the guy got an earful from a small woman behind him.

Nice to see Rock Junkie again and The Gutless Wonder who's enthusiasm does transfer to the live arena. I just missed out on meeting James a couple of times at the end, though luckily for a person or two behind me, they didn't. When I saw Gutless right next to James in front of the mob I thought she'd been successful - I'd have given her the opportunity to meet him instead of me if I'd have had the choice. Maybe you shouldn't have said you wanted James to manhandle you, in Appreciation.

Some captures from the night, EMG video uploading at the moment:

It's actually a video that Jo (tattered@torn) took and I matched it up with my audio. I moved further back after the first few songs because I was finding it difficult to stay on my feet. Once I moved back though I just seemed to be getting drenched by drinks that were being thrown. It's all part of it though I suppose... :-)

Great pics Deadmartyr!

I'm in your third pic Hibernatus! *squee!* If you would be willing to do a copy of it for me I would be extremely grateful. I'll PM you about it later. Don't worry if you're not able to, just thought I would ask.

(Having to do the rounds asking people for copies of their pics. Should've just asked Dext to take a picture for me! )

The chances are alot of us were sat next to each other without knowing.

I'll start, as you walk in the door, I was sat in the sofas directly to your left with my back to the window with my wife. I was wearing a black send away the tigers tour t-shirt!
Hahaha fuck sake, I think we were on the table next to you! I kept glancing over and wondering who you might be but not wanting to ask I was sat wearing a Beatles' Revolver t-shirt with Nasal Scarecrow and Strummerman before our mate Tom turned up.

Always have a great time at the Civic, nice to see Of Walking Abortion, Solitude Sometimes Is and Let Robeson Sing come back, haven't seen either of those since the first time I was at Civic in 2005. Great gig, lookin forward to Isle Of Wight now.

Yeah you did. I smile casually at people I recognise but don't want to annoy.
