Of course if this logic applied to support acts too, I would have priority booking for every Pins gig ever despite never actually seeing them as a headliner, ever.
I thought you'd quoted the wrong post for a minute but ooooh points system I've said before that following a band is like following a football team

I'd be wary of blocking noobs from getting tickets, but as ticket purchase has moved almost exclusively online I think it is getting closer to a point where this wouldn't be impossible. I recently bought some tickets through Songkick, and that website knows every gig I've been to over the last few years, so could in theory flag up bands I've seen a lot or put a lot of effort into seeing (like how attending away matches gets you extra points for football fans).

Having to watch MSP at a festival should earn you some points.

I've never understood why there's so much objection to bringing in a similar system to football..aside from the points system they have anti-touting system in place and its worked for years.

Basically they should issue what 2000 manics season tickets, and then you have to buy a ticket to every gig but you can sell them on to another fan .

Yeah, this. GetMeIn is owned by Ticketmaster and many of the touts selling through that site are selling tickets that Ticketmaster put aside for them in advance. It makes it a particularly sickening lie when Ticketmaster then argue that anti-touting action would harm the consumer because, hey, they only do it because the fans WANT to be able to resell tickets if their plans change, so they're actually doing it as a service to us. No. They do it because they've found a way to get two revenue streams from a single set of tickets. Worthless, evil, fucking arseholes.

There is a not a disease on this earth that you could wish on them that would actually be justice for the way these scum live.

They were all in blocks together, so don't look like returns.

I still can't believe it actually. I just got filled with a sense of joy and had to share it. I'm so glad they're doing these shows, and I'm thrilled to have tickets

Christ, imagine the battle over who's entitled to one and who isn't?
