With you not at you. I just think it's funny people arguing over when something sounded better as if it's something that can be proved. I'm not even sure which 'side' I'd take, I think the Manics have sounded different at different stages of their career but I'm ok with that.

No offence meant at all Donkey, or anyone.

It's like that Gary Larson cartoon "Bob's new job as a sound mixer was short lived when he accidently pressed the bands sound to 'suck' rather than 'blow'"
I tried finding that pic to post, but no luck.
Did the "Don't drink and desk" incident happen in 2007 or earlier?

Apologies for the bump, but if anyone could point me to where I can locate and purchase the Gold Against The Soul 2-disc reissue these days, I would be much obliged.

I already got the ones I wanted most (the Lifeblood reissue is the treasure trove of Manics songs I've never heard), but I can't seem to locate GAtS anywhere. Cheers!

i think generation terrorists and gold against the soul were very limited runs or so. they sold out really fast. i never bought these two either. i got the rest of them, and i absolutely love them. great reissues.

There was a Dutch only version of Everlasting which had You Love Us, Motorcycle Emptiness, Kevin Carter and I think Design? Think they were from a mixture of radio sessions in Utrecht and maybe summat from Pinkpop? The live Motown Junk can be found on the Tsunami cassette but I'm not sure where that was from off the top of my head.

I've been collecting Japanese mini-LPs on and off for a while now; between them and standard deluxe reissues I'm hoping to eventually replace my entire bog standard crappy jewel case CD collection with something a bit nicer.
Reading this thread, I noticed the consensus that with these 2CD issues plus Lipstick Traces, it covers everything - but nobody seems to have mentioned that it omits Dead Passive, Hanging On and First Republic. As the first two of these are among my favourite Manics b-sides it'd be a shame to not have them, but it's a pain that it'll have to be the UK deluxe edition nestled among the over-sized mini-LPs.
