No, a single piano note being plunked at the beginning does NOT make it sound like Robbie Williams!

Quote:
They're influences that the band have mentioned in the past, but I get a total Magazine vibe of The Holy Bible. JDB often namechecks John McGeoch as an influence and it's totally there in songs like "PCP", which reminds me of "Shot by Both Sides". I'd also say the influence of PiL is in evidence on that albums. JDB's weird guitar noise on the intro to "Of Walking Abortion" is reminiscent of "Death Disco" from "Metal Box"

4st 7 lb (intro) = Eton rifles by the jam...
And I won't go into my "Bagpuss" opinion here.... |

SO TRUE. And hilarious. Damn.
My best friend is convinced that the Manics, especially on Little Baby Nothing, sound like Belle & Sebastian... I don't see it at all though! Or hear it, even..

Condemned To Rock N' Roll sounds like a tribute to Appetite For Destruction. The outro is very similar to the one in Rocket Queen.

I remember Simon Price pointing out in his Everything book that Another Invented Disease sounded loads like G 'N' R. I definitely agree.

Noticed this one a bit ago, not sure if anyone else has brought it up, but Bowie's 'Everyone Says Hi' sounds kind of like 'Girl from Tiger Bay'. Actually the strings from it sound very Manicsy in general.
