June in Australia isn't cold, I've been there, it's pretty nice. I'm half tempted to go backpacking around there again or to NZ for a few months and get in a Manics gig.

Dusting off my vintage lions tops(+shorts)ready for the gigs in melbourne+sydney--should be fun!x

Hopefully a trip over to auckland as well for our first ever show in new zealand-xx

Be great to play infront of our australian fans again-the last tour there was a STUNNER-xx

By the way recording+mixing of new Manics record going well-hopefully we will get one out this year!xx
It'd be nice if we got a few new ones in the set though I'm not very hopeful given the "greatest hits" mentioned in the press release.

It's been mentioned on the BBC site now too: http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-nor...wales-22360708

Quite weird seeing that pop up whilst browsing on my lunch break; can't remember the last time that happened.

I'm glad they kept their promise to return to NZ & AUS (being Canadian, I feel a bit of an affinity for those two countries, especially New Zealand). Have fun, kids! It's a shame however that they don't have the same level of respect for their N. American fans having promised to return in no more than 2 years...almost 4 years ago. TBH, I'm surprised they have any fans left here given their obvious snubbing of Canada and the US for virtually their entire career.

I don't know about Canada, but considering the USA has "snubbed" them for pretty much their entire career, it seems far from ridiculous. Look at the venues they played on the last US tour. I'd be surprised if they made money off the trip, it was a favour if anything.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I remember one of the band saying they lost quite a lot of money on the last US tour. Not to mention the fact these gigs are to coincide with the rugby that happens to be in Australia; it's not a snub against other countries. And they haven't had anything to promote since NT either, so it's not like they've done many gigs anywhere recently.

Back in the olden days (80s and 90s), Canada was the prime music test market for up and coming British bands. If there was any interest from Canada, they'd be tested in the US market. Many Brit bands still tour here regularly, even though they may not get a huge audience.

It's tough to find a Manics general release album/CD here. Mainly, you can find it on Amazon or iTunes first. Eventually it may show up at HMV.

The Manics would be unlikely to fill up an arena at this point, here in Canada. A smaller venue, only. Which is a shame. But that's it. And you don't make the money from the small venues unless you tour like crazy.

I'll be announced shortly. Also the second test is on Saturday 29 June. The band can pop over to NZ on the Sunday. Play on the 1 July. Spend a day or so in Auckland R&R then back to Australia for the final test on 6 July. Ace!
