I really like it on first listen, sounds fresh.

Quite like the contrast between Richard Hawley's and JDB's voices.

I like the fact it's a change in direction and nothing like their previous album. I agree with those wanting more James though. It goes to another level when he does appear; for the first couple of minutes of the song when it's just Richard Hawley, it doesn't feel like a Manics track to me. Looking forward to hearing it live though, as then it'll presumably all be James.

I'm excited for the album, as if this is an indicator to go by, it really is going to be something different, which is what I've wanted from them for a while now.

first thought on one listen: thank god it's completely different to the Postcards stuff.

can also see where they're coming from with that statement of James taking less of a vocal role: fair few duets on that tracklist, wonder if they're all going to be as guest-heavy on the vocals as this track?

Oh, that's absolutely fucking brilliant. Really beautiful, and doesn't really sound like anything else they've ever done. So, so impressed right now

...having said I dare not get my hopes up for a Nicky vocal, I'm imagining this along the lines of 'William's Last Words' and thinking it would absolutely break my heart (quickly) in the best possible way. I know plenty of people don't like Nicky singing. But I adore it, and the sheer amount of feeling in his voice, with these lyrics... would be just...

Yeah, I'd love to hear Nicky sing it. I love his vocals though, wish he'd sing more.

It's weird, and really is going to take a few listens to get into, but I do love the bit when James starts singing though... the song is starting to drag a bit, then BANG!! A huge strings riff, and JDB's massive voice out of nowhere - that's why I love the Manics!!

Can't imagine this be played live that much if at all though due the amount of guest vocal, and the about 50 million intertwining guitar parts

On the 2nd listen, the final bit of this track really does feel like a band preparing to say goodbye, but a big goodbye, and for the record, that is the first time i've said this! i think this really will be the final GREAT phase of the Manic Street Preachers
