I've had a chance to think about the weekend, and although I posted about what a great time I had, I'm actually quite upset about things.

I always build Manics gigs up for months beforehand and get excited about the people I'm going to meet and talk to, but then when the time comes I get shy and nervous and hardly say two words to anybody. I then come away from the gig full of regrets that I didn't make the most of it.

I know they're going to be playing in 2 years time, but I'm considering making the O2 my last one.

Don't worry about it mate, I didn't talk to anyone either except for my brother. I sometimes thought it'd be cool to just strike up small talk about the Manics to people around me a few people appeared to be on their own and during the 15 minute break I thought maybe people would say a few words like "Wow that was cool!" or something but nah. I just stood there on my own looking around playing with my feather boa

Whilst I like SFA, Gorky's etc I can only really enjoy them in small doses. If I'd gone I'd probably be moaning that I'd have wanted James to sing the whole of Robeson!

Just me being petty, wasn't a bad version at all!

Note to self - NEXT TIME BUY THE TICKET!!!

Did you not go to the gig Gutless Wonder? That's a shame if you didn't.

That's my best friend Josie, she was so annoyed about how many people turned up at like 3pm and thought they could just budge in when she'd been there since 8.30
Interestingly enough, that wasn't Josie I was talking about so that's 2 people who had their gig partially ruined because of queue jumpers.

I agree but unfortunately Manics fans aren't particularly well known for being confident enough to use confrontation. Well, I and the people around us weren't confident enough anyway. If it were a group of people which didn't include a couple of knobbers which had gleefully called me a 'fatso' after I had helped them get a spot on the barrier in the past, I may have been more inclined to call them on it. As it stands, I didn't really want to talk to them, confrontationally or not.

Sadly not no. David/Refresher has kindly got me a t-shirt though.

It's bad about the queue jumpers. It's not worth getting into a big argument about it with people. You'll always get the idiots unfortunately.

lol only 8 yrs to go then

The 2nd half was much better ten that 1st for some reason though I had to turn off on ADFL, so bored of it. Standing area was full of life most active MSP crowd for a long time, maybe 10 yrs most of them knew the words & the songs.

Gruff sang LRS better than James!! Nina could have done better if her amp was mic'ed up better lol all the way from America??? What exactly are The Cardigans doing these days, bugger all & I bet she got some £££ for it! Wish they had got Ian as well for SKON
Highlights:

Let Robeson Sing
Faster
Revol
Suicide Is Painless
You Love Us
Motown Junk

Absoulety amazing gig, had amazing seat 2nd row near the stage near Nicky, only ruined by the two tools in front who insisted on crappy dancing and doing air gutair and devil horn hand gestures- luckly the security calmed them down.

Cried as soon as it started and during the first few songs-it felt like the end of something but a celebration of the last twenty + years. I first saw them in 1992 so have soundtracked over half my life and can pin point tracks to certain points in my life.

The running order was a bit weird, but unless it went in date order-it would not of pleased everyone- loved the comments about everyone hating So why so sad- then it sounding better than it did on record. All the band were on top form.

I was hoping for a special guest for Little Baby nothing

Had to smile at Simon Price- he had a checklist of the songs and was ticking them off.

Came away remembering why I love the MSP so much-Let's hope it's worth the two year wait

Got to admit, I left the gig feeling slightly worried that this choice might have been taken away from us. Before adfl, james said, "we'll see you in britain in two years hopefully." The 'hopefully' seems to have been overlooked by everyone. The way he said it gave me the impression that they might be unsure as to whether or not to carry on.

For me, I still rank the second hammersmith apollo gig in april 2005 as the best I've seen them, but that wasn't just about the gig, but also about what was going on in my life at the time. But saturday night was pretty fucking special.

But if I went into manics gigs acknowledging that none of them will ever match that hammersmith gig, I couldn't enjoy them at all. I'll just enjoy the gigs for what they are.

Unless I've totally misunderstood what you're both implying. In which case, oops.

Am I the only one who thinks Nina can sing? Her parts were spot on, and it made it the first time in a few years I've enjoyed that song live.

Spent all of last night and this morning reminiscing. Loved Saturday night. Hope someone tells the band that many of us enjoyed Exile, Revol, Nixon, Grace Of God et al.

Also, security were telling some people to move down past existing queues. Might explain some queue jumpers.
