No, it was Wire's Maranello bass. "The toughest guitars in the world" :-)

And there was apparently a 40 mile queue from Chippenham to Cardiff on the m4 to actually get there - and then the city's full of one direction fans. No, we're better off on our sofas.

The guitar smashing seemed a bit out of place. There must have been around 8,000 people going 'alright, JDB lad, calm down, no need to get excited'.

Proud to be a miserable sod. I'm a depressing cunt as well and I fucking hate this miserable planet and everything on it. And that's the way I like it. At least I don't get surprised when the walls come tumbling down.

YOU'RE to old!!! I'm going to be 40 in a fortnight. Then I'm officially dead. Even though I've got a 12 week old baby boy!

Well, I enjoyed that. Especially the attempts at smashing the guitar at the end.
Shame, but not surprising they cut some hb stuff. Hopefully the rest crops up at somepoint. |

Not to shit on the parade but I'm glad the Holy Bible era is over. Of course it's wonderful to hear the album in full, and I'm sure it was equally just an excuse for them to make a bit of cash doing the rounds again, but it's reached the end of the road now.
Please don't do a EMG cash in type of thing. Go away. Write some songs. Play them live. Don't play YSTS, Everlasting, YLAINE, YLU ever again. Don't even bother about token rarities. Reinvent yourselves. Have a better promo campaign. Don't worry about critical acclaim, appearing on 6 music or Radio 2, or being the last band still together. Don't even worry about being relevant. Do something different. Last edited by Europa Gluten Free; 05-06-2015 at 22:16. |

Oh god I don't know what's worse. The BBC cutting half the bible or the fact they turned up Naysmith on Condemned. Once heard, can never be unheard.
Happy to have a stellar version of Golden Platitudes, wish the studio version had the same bite to it...

I agree with Europa.
TOTALLY unpopular opinion, anyone too fanatic, look away now. Personally, I find it ever so slightly embarassing that the boys are still acting like they did when they were at their peak. They need to face they don't have a new ADFL or a new Tolerate. The TIMT and EMG days are over and they can't keep wallowing in that success. Unless there's something new and fresh that's a hit, they're going to keep having to wheel out ADFL on TV. They're not gonna crack the US now. There's hardly any new fans coming in now. I feel like we're a little cult (Not CoR, just in general, Manics-wise). I do love them, a lot and they're a big part of my life but I feel as if they're going nowhere, and if they keep carrying on how they do, they're not going to go out in a blaze of glory. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Futurology but when they keep going back to playing certain stuff, it's almost like they have no faith in themselves. It would be lovely to have EMG20, but I just don't think it's right like THB20 was.
