They are sold but many seats will be empty, some of the prices are ridiculous. And there were 90 tickets on Ebay for London, 90! Plus the rest of the venues... That's sad.

If someone enjoys something, has the means to do it and isn't hurting anyone else by doing so, why the hell shouldn't they? Multiples dates, queueing etc aren't for everyone, I know, that's fine, but there's no need to snark at those who do it. The most dates I've ever done on one tour was four (meant to be five, there was a cancellation and I couldn't make the reschedule) and I had the absolute best time and wished I could have done more. What's overkill to one person is life-affirming for another. Obviously quality over quantity applies but that's a chance you take if you're doing one gig a tour or 10.
This, very much I love the band beyond measure, I want to see them as often as possible, and there's nothing wrong with that. I never get to as many gigs per tour as I'd like, and I'm really looking forward to this one.

We all had an equal chance of getting tickets - and arguably the chances get significantly lower when trying for your second or third or fourth ticket because everybody's snapped them up while you were getting your first.

And then there's the touts... Really, go count the number of tickets on eBay and whatever right now at four times their face value, and tell me that me and my five tickets are the problem.

I can't get the spot I need if I don't queue, and I don't get to see my friends very much. For me it is, as they say, a no-brainer. There are plenty of different reasons for people's varying approaches to everything - judging is unhelpful.
All of this, too. Not so much the social thing, because I'm shit at talking to people, but I want/need to be on the barrier as close as humanly possible to Nicky because... well, because I'm a mentalist. Also I've had crap arthritic knees since my early twenties and I need something to lean against because by James' acoustic bit I'm flagging! Oh, and the front few rows tend to be a lot calmer and I'm not the most energetic or limber person either. So I'm there an hour or two early to queue at every gig, I nod politely through the support acts (which I think I enjoy more often than not anyway), and then have to do my best not to be pulled/shoved/thrown out of my place on the barrier by some twat who gets there late then rushes to the front as soon as the Manics start.

Tried to get a ticket for manchester but failed. Damn my break having to be at 10am. Hopefully I'll see them on the next tour.

Whatever Louis CK did to stop people touting tickets for his tour seemed to work, wish others would follow suit.

Yes everything else aside, that's the main reason I do what I do: love. For me there is no overkill (other than healthwise), I want as much of them as possible. Especially after nearly two years away!

You're quite right there. I think some people are just turning their entirely justified upset on the wrong target.

I am also shit at talking to people, but the Manics have significantly improved that - through me finding friends, going to meet-ups and gigs, and bothering the band themselves. You should totally come and say hi at Newport or Manc if you're going/feel up to it - shy people with dodgy knees, we gotta stick together And yeah, I think those kind of people are the real problem within the fan community, not the multi-giggers/queuers...

That documentary made me so angry, and this effect of touting I am noticing more and more - the empty seats, the space that should clearly be filled with people on the floor when an event has 'sold out'. Not only are people being screwed out of tickets, the tickets then aren't even being used. The whole thing is so unnecessary and unfair.

part of the fault lies with the way this websites are laid out. There's no *add to basket* option if you want to book more than one date. I suppose the majority of people will only go to one gig. I registered with Seetickets so i wouldn't have to faff around filling in my name and address, but despite registering my credit card they still wanted me to put the number in again.
I wasted precious seconds looking for my card and trying to read the numbers off it, not to mention the seconds staring at the screen trying to figure out where my inputted card details were.

On my way to work i realised my mistake. The card details were probably there and all i had to do was click on the *buy tickets*. It wasn't clear at all and i didn't want to waste any more time. Soooooo i missed out on Manchester. The End

I am happy i got bristol and london tho'. I think. I have confirmation emails so they won't take them away will they? WILL THEY?

Edit: just read the rest of this thread... Any chance people could stop criticising those that queue and go to multiple gigs please? Their time and money and their choice.

I think many miss out thanks to reCaptcha

I mean what is the point when it comes to paying?

Plus if you are registered on the site which 100% people are, is there any point? Makes me SICK!!!!!!!!!!

Just realised that the Newport date is actually three days before the album is released. I think it's actually the first time I'll have ever heard new material in a live setting ahead of a recording.

BUT HOW AM I MEANT TO HAVE LEARNT THE LYRICS, WIRE? EH?

It's very sad that people moan about doing several gigs on a tour. I did a fair few dates on the PPF tour and had to deal with bitching on MSN, etc.

Even if, and I suspect it's not really a factor at all, I lost out on tickets because of multiple people doing several dates I don't think I'd really give a shit, it's their time and money, they can do what they want with it. And I'd rather lose out on tickets that went to people who were going to gain some enjoyment from it than ebay profiteers.

I forgot about the tickets going on sale again today, as I forgot about the pre-sale, so I don't think I deserve to go really.

my boss very very very kindly let me come in late and i didn't have to lie about why either.

At least we had 2 or 3 days notice for the pre-sale. There's been countless times when i've got home and seen the email too late to book time off
