There was a time when No Surface all Feeling was ten a penny on Manics setlists.
Anyone remember the JDB solo tour when they played it better than MSP?

I've always enjoyed No Surface All Feeling. I remember seeing JDB play it in Cardiff on his solo tour, possibly to end the set.

I've seen NSAF in at least two of the last four Manics gigs I've been to. Brixton last year (second night) and they opened with it in Newport on the RTF tour. They may have even played it in Cardiff Motorpoint last year.
EDIT: They didn't play it at Cardiff.

NSAF, one of those rare songs I didn't have to listen to 2 or 3 times to say it was a great song. Don't know if other music listeners are different but that happens quite rarely with me; FDTW and Tonight Tonight are two others that spring to mind but can't think of many.
It was a stand out song the first gig I went to, on the EMG tour, and equally so the next time I heard it live when they brought it back for the Lifeblood tour. |

No Surface was a song I was bored with for many years, felt like I'd heard it live too many times. After a break it was a welcome return, but slightly ruined by Wayne's guitaring.

Columbia, eh? So a last dash attempt to get their albums released in America in the same year! More than happy to be getting new Manics stuff.

Haven't they been with Columbia forever?

They're a calculated and blatant rip off of other, better bands, but they've removed the human elements and sonic innovation, where it is to be found, in those bands and instead produce anodyne arena indie for the lager drinkers. Their claims to be a "political" band are utterly risible, their lyrics are nonsense or garbage, but usually both.

wouldn't want to go see em live ... they do sound like a lager drinker blokey knobhead sort of band, but then i survived a noel gallagher gig who appeals to the same so might change my mind

Is a lager drinker usually a larger drinker? Statistics remain inconclusive, but 8/10 scientists agree that Kasabian are fucking shite.
