Read here http://www.geo.ed.ac.uk/home/scotland/britain.html
Even a primary school describes Great Britain as I did:
http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch...in/britain.htm
http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch...itishisles.htm

Great Britain is the largest of the British Isles. Great Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales.
Throw this in as well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Travel_Area

That Woodlands Primary school website is quoted by everyone

Apparently the term "British Isles" is really detested in Ireland where they elect to use the rather more neutral 'These Islands' instead.

Scotland is a country. However, it is not an independent country.

PLEASE DON'T SAY THAT.

I get enough racism as it is from bloody people shouting about "foreigners coming in from England and taking our houses and jobs."

See? See? I was going to be all nice and let you win the argument (not that I actually think you're right ) but then you went and misspelt Guernsey. I think you're just deliberately annoying me now. Not as much as you're trying to wind up the Scots though "I never said British Isles because that includes ROI and that actually is a real official country, unlike Scotland" is genius!

I am sorry for getting my E and U the wrong way around.

It's not a matter of letting me win. It's more about me actually being right and you know it, so you're trying to get away from it because I got an E and U the wrong way round.
