Hopefully it will still sell over the long term, even if it's out of the charts.

Does anyone know how many copies Journal had sold at the end of its fifth week? Just so we can compare

45. In Czech Republic. I hope it will give us a gig next year. Comparison to jfpl would be interesting

#61 eh. Oh well, aye it'll drop from the top 75 by this coming weekend then I reckon. 5 weeks in the top 75.....one better than JFPL then. Mass communication indeed!

Do you think the new single will give the album a "second wind"? Or do all hopes rest on the January half price (if not further) sales?

If it climbs up higher than 20 as a single possibly, maybe an increse of 10 or so spots, but I doubt that'll happen. Second single syndrome and all that.

These days it seems to be common industry practice to reduce an album's price a few weeks after its release. Most of the albums currently in the chart are available for a reduced price (anywhere from £2.99 up to £6.99). I think the record company need to reduce Postcards cost now, waiting until January is too late.

So I was googling and It's Not War is still in the NME top ten. I don't know what the NME top ten is supposed to represent, but it's obviously shit.

NME have more sense than the public at large, obviously.

Down to 76 this week which is probably a far smaller drop than some thought. With that small-ish drop in mind I think this past week or the one coming would've been the ideal time to release SKON.

SKON later release may be Sony thinking that due to the relative failure of the last single they want to hold off for 2 months to make people forget about It's Not War seeing as it hasn't held well in public favour. If SKON does well (which I doubt) it could give a huge resurge to album sales in that regard, especially if like most Manics albums the price cuts down by a bit in that time.
