Mine has arrived - its a wee bit creased at the corner but its here! I tweeted Q magazine and they sent one out for me and its here lord knows were the one that was apparently dispatched is!

I was expecting my LP to arrive today as everyone seems to be getting theirs, instead I got this rather nice letter from those lovely people at 'Great' magazines:

The vinyl is lovely, and while the issue looks beautiful, it's content is pure shit isn't it?
With everything in their archives, all of the musical landmarks that Q have covered in the last 25 years and all of the excellent artists that they clearly have at their disposal, was getting a load of bands to all more or less say "I like Nirvana and I bought a Michael Jackson album once" really the best they could do?

Utter shit.

It was nice to see an issue of Q without a shit load of people wanking all over U2 for a change though. That was in this month’s issue, of course it was, but still.... The free CD with people covering Achtung Baby is very good however, in all fairness.

the whole thing is fucking amazing. i had a major wank over it over on my blog, we had a mini-group wank over it over on the currently listening to.... thread when it came out, so to speak.

often these "cover the album" things are hit and miss ("Smiths Is Dead" springs to mind), but this one is magnificent.

i'm not sure if there will ever be the grounds for Q or all that many significant artists to get a big massive erection over the idea of doing the same to a Manics album, but you never know.

I've just rung them now, as I've had two e-mails go unanswered over the past week. The woman I spoke to said there were none left in stock, at which point I cut in and said I just wanted a refund as this has gone on so long now. She then said she had to "ask permission" if she could issue a refund (?!), I was put on hold for a few minutes and then told I should receive a refund within 28 days. I asked if I'd get written confirmation of this and she said I should, but then I don't really believe anything they say at this point.
