Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh I wish I'd never even said anything now. I've explained I'm grateful, I just dont want to see them get old. Didn't word things right, came across quite half, but I know there's people who agree with me.

You Stole the Sun seemed to get the biggest reaction from the crowd! It'll be a long time before they drop it, and why would they. Golden Platitudes sounded pretty special too. Hope those at the gig enjoyed it!

I wasn't aiming that specifically at you, there's been a lot of people in this thread suggesting they should drop hits, moaning about casual fans etc etc.

And I get your point, but the manics thought they were too old when they made everything must go. So personally I'm glad that fear of looking old didn't make them quit. They're doing better than a lot of other bands who started when they did, and in my opinion their two last albums have been the strongest they've made since truth (jfpl aside which I don't really count as lyrically it's obviously older).

And from a selfish point of view I'd still love to hear Patrick Bateman live, so the longer they carry on the more chance there is of that becoming a possibility 😂

Well, that seemed surreal in places.

I'm not really sure if 4st 7lb is an appropriate track for bouncing/dancing as I saw some doing.

As for the national anthem bit, I've always felt slightly out of place at previous Cardiff shows I've been to. At this one I felt slightly moved. Hearing almost 10,000 Welshmen and woman sing their anthem in those surroundings was beautiful.

Love that version of The Everlasting. Thought the BBC coverage was pretty good, as stated elsewhere they were never going to show the whole thing uncut.

Watching my recording of this now (couldn't watch last night). Enjoying it.

I don't understand why they always have to cut songs out on TV, and leave all the ones they've shown a gazillion times before, but as others have said it's not a major surprise.

You're the BBC. You're funded by the masses. You've 90 minutes to fill, and a live show to edit for broadcast within 45mins of it starting. You've potentially millions of people to please. Do you cut Removeables or top-3 chart smash Your Love Alone..?

I feel they struck a good balance. We were never going to get the full show. The vast majority of live shows broadcast on any TV channel have a few songs cut. I was more than happy with what I got to see. It's a shitload more Manics than has been on TV in the last decade. It was great for me to see the intense/nervousness of Glasgow compared to the set-piece show that was Edinburgh to the triumphant homecoming of Cardiff. If you really were that bothered about seeing everything, then go to a gig. The BBC gave the many who couldn't make it to any show for a whole myriad of reasons the chance to sample a taste.
You all should be grateful.
It wasn't even going to be broadcast as far as anyone knew until a month ago!

Thank you BBC, well done on being brave enough to not censor the lyrics (that must've been a tough decision), and thank you Manics for allowing the broadcast, even if there are a minority of ungrateful, selfish "fans" out there!

Also as for people saying the crowd was dead - I wasn't very near the front and was surrounded by these casual fans everyone seems to hate and the crowd was not dead where I was! Yeah it livened up a lot for the hits bit but there's only a few songs on THB you can jump about to anyway. Plenty of people sang along.

If you're just judging it by the tv, you're not going to get the right impression, they edit the audience out so you can hear better, don't they.

Bad sound, some dodgy vocals and zimmer frame version of Faster aside, I enjoyed it. Not getting all the tracks you wanted to see on tv is better than getting nothing at all.

The first half we were standing with people who knew the words to THB but weren't exactly moving and shouting, so I dunno. Moved forward for the second half and it livened up.

I had a great night. Not the best I've seen them play but some really special moments

I found design with the footage on the big screens quite emotional too.
