Would love it if they dropped that single piano note down in the mix on FTS

Great stuff! With the tracklisting leaking a few weeks ago I did wonder if there were any surprises left to get excited about.

Hard to tell from YouTube but the mix sounds more bass heavy with slightly less of the Stooges piano to me.

Can anyone get the Rosebud video working ? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GP17JnelZ8c
Have tried VPNs without success

All I’ve ever wanted was for KYE to actually have some production instead of the sludge it originally was. This is beyond all my hopes. They’ve remixed the whole album from the ground up and we’re also getting it split up into the two albums it was originally conceived as. Dream come true for me.

Rosebud is available to purchase.
If you Google “Manic Street Preachers Rosebud” it gives you a link to a YouTube video on their official account but nothing plays. I’m guessing it’s meant to go live tomorrow.

That’s most likely a listing mistake by Apple as Dave Eringa apparently confirmed to the What Is Music podcast that they’ve remixed everything from the ground up. All tracks.

Bizarrely, the song I would liken it to the most is “Black Garden”.

From the sample I've heard, Rosebud sounds very much like a TIMT b-side.

If you have a VPN, set it to NZ, google Manic Street Preachers Rosebud and you'll be able to watch it on YouTube.

As the marketing for the reissue states, they were confused. And yeah, they must have been very confused to have included the likes of “Wattsville Blues” and “The Year Of Putrification” but left “Rosebud” on the cutting room floor.

Setting up high hopes here if you're comparing it to some of the best songs on the album!

I am actually quite irrationally excited to hear outtakes from one of my favourite Manics eras. A part of me still would've preferred a more "purist" approach of original album + remastered b-sides etc on their own disc, but knowing that they've actually gone and remixed the full thing and generally seem to treat this as very much a unique project through and through (and not just some sloppy revisionism like the SATT and TIMTTMY reissues)... yeah I can get behind this new vision now.

Your mileage may vary/horses for courses/it’s all opinion in the end etc.
