iTunes usually discounts the early track purchase against the album purchase as "Complete My Album" - but I don't think any other sites do.

kudos for actually surprising me with something genuinely different, Nicky!

The song begins with the desperate image of the left behind retracing the final steps of their friend. He admits that he cannot understand what happened, or why, and how much it hurt "So long my fatal friend, I don't need this.." Rationalising and then mourning.

But this then changes to "So long my faithful friend, I don't need this to end", that is, remembering his friend whom he loved and admired so much. He is asking his "faithful" friend to accompany him to this place, on the other side. 'Walk Me To the Bridge' I think means, help me to move on. I guess it's rhetorical, in motion, ongoing, because the dialogue is internal.

He writes how the phrase "take it to the bridge" had another meaning (before the tragedy) and how they used to sing it "loud at the indie disco." This is pure joyous nostalgia, reclaiming a positive from a negative. The lyrics are at times blunt, then suddenly allegorical, like the music they are pulsating.
"Still blinded by your intellect" - I take that to mean that he struggles to make sense of what happened because it is obscured by his friend's intellectualism, rather than a judgement.

It's All Gone is probably in my top ten. Automatik Teknicolor is pretty high too. I love the Hook-esque bass. It's very New Order.

From MSP Facebook;

""Ruins, for me, are the beginning. With the debris, you can construct new ideas."
Anselm Kiefer

This week, new Manic Street Preachers music became available online via legal and illegal download stores.

As many have gathered, this wasn’t the launch we had in mind for a campaign that we're all incredibly excited about. Originally, the plan had been to issue information on 'Walk Me To The Bridge' and the album 'Futurology' at the start of this week.

That date moved due to the album release going back a fortnight – unfortunately several online retailers didn't manage to take the track off their schedules. This has caused horrendous problems for us and a lot of confusion for you.

Full details of the album will be released on Monday 28th April along with Kieran Evans’ video for 'Walk Me To The Bridge'. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

MSP + Sony"
