It's got nostalgia and a sense of yearning for the past. Morrisons have tried to rip it off, but it just isn't Woolies. Actually I think Send Away The Tigers is a low point lyrically for Nicky. Most of it makes no sense, like he just jumbled up a load of random words and put them in a song. I think he got most of them from crosswords and word searches.

Just gave SATT a spin and didn't even notice this song was on until the second chorus.

You were spacing out Aaron, I sometimes do that whilst half listening to an album and typing stuff on here for example!

I think you'll find I was born spaced, thank you! (Well that's one way of getting out of the draft/jury service)

I never want to hear Autumnsong ever again in my entire life, along with 90% of PFAYM. Together they are even worse than any of the self-indulgent crap they did on GT. Such an embarrassment for a band who by now, should really know better.

Wear your eyes as dark as night
Paint your face with what you like
Wear your love like it is made of hate
Born to destroy and born to create

Now baby, what've you done to your hair?
Is it just the same time of year
When you think that you don't really care?
Now baby, what have you done?
Done to your hair, done to your hair, done to your hair, done to your hair, hair!

I'm with you.

I love this song.

The lyrics to me seem to me to be about Richey & Richey references with what have you done to your hair, the hair in bunches and born to destroy/create....from Nicky. With some optimism that though winter's round the corner nothing lasts forever, it's not necessarily the end

And the haters have just spent 5 pages of a thread on it

We win Gutless

Or my mind's fecked

Editing on further thinking....it's about getting old

I actually quite like that there are people who properly love Autumnsong. Takk mentioned objectivity (half in jest I'm sure) but that's the thing, most people's complaints with Autumnsong, or SATT, or PFAYM are subjective, objectivity has very little to do with it.

That said, I think the Underdogs edit complaint is, somewhat unusually, not a subjective one, as it's based on an objective idea of professionalism in audio work that appeared to be lacking, in the absence of evidence to the contrary at least.

Is this thread even worth keeping open? They should just rename it "Autumnshite".

Has anyone met anyone outside of this forum who even knows about the underdogs edit?
