Yeah, quite a few b-sides - wonder how many singles they're planning on releasing then?

I reckon these are just for the lead, for SATT they seemed to record them as they went along, I seem to remember they recorded a few b sides for Indian Summer in Norwich while on tour

They've had five b-sides per single ever since TLORN (incl. the few covers during SATT period). Minus all the digital single live filler.

Yeah I remember them recording their b-sides for the SATT singles as they were releasing them but perhaps they'll just record a batch of songs now and shove them on the first single and then any left over either put on a 2nd single or some free download type thing like in 2005 with that God Save the Manics thing.

Talking of SATT b-sides and being recorded on tour, you can definitely tell that 1404 was recorded on tour because James has a slightly hoarse voice on it compared to normal. Also has anyone noticed the horrific edit on that song? Probably worse than Underdogs I think.

They did say they in an interview on the American tour (I think?) that they had loads of songs because they didn't have to write many for the last album - Richey had written thm all already. Perhaps this means we can expect lots of b-sides! Hopefully, this is a good thing.

It's around 1:09 into the song, just before James sings the next line you can hear a "fwip" sound, it's a lot more obvious when you hear it through headphones. It's not guitar or anything like that, seems like they fucked up the edit of James going into sing the next line.

Haha this song just started as I started to read this page and so I listened out at this point and yeah, I'd never heard that little part before. Like you say, I have my headphoned on currently so it's probably easier to pick it up like this. Sounds a bit like he was about to start singing a tad too early and stops himself and then starts. I don't know. Oh well.

I noticed this before, Just before the "If RS Thomas..." bit. Sounds like an extra "if" to me before he start's the line.

Yep, but looks like they may have tried removing it but not completely because it's a very sharp cut, similar to Underdogs.

To be fair, he only just about does. He's sending texts to it, so using basically a 1990s technology. He's not using it to interface with anyone and won't presumably be reading any replies.

Yes, that seems like a bad edit. The other vocal take's rubbish. But it's not that serious I think Underdogs are far worse. 1404 has lotta rubbish in it, it's something like low-cost b-side (4instance around 2:00 there are metronome clicks or is it James's feet?!)But who cares?
