I dunno, the increasing popularity of vinyl bothers me more, album lengths have been gradually falling from 45-50 mins back to about 35 in recent years. It gets especially silly with things like Beatles and Kate Bush boxsets having matching CD and vinyl tracklists, despite the bonus discs being around 38 minutes. An utter waste of CDs. I think it's a shame that downloads and streaming came along before DVD/BluRay could become a serious format. |

looks like the 'box set' is a hardback book one like SATT 10th anniversary and all of the recent albums. Should be nice to have, hope there's a good write-up and photos inside.

I've been a bit sick of all the reissues but i'm feeling positive about this one, probably because it deserves a reappraisal by the band. The inverted artwork looks great and i'm a bit in love with rosebud, it does sound like kye era to me though.

I wonder if the cover is an x-ray as the original had been painted over?
Sun set but sun rise brings more details. Reckon Studies In Paralysis be released next week on YouTube? And I was more or less right about kids breaking up/finishing school! |

Tried to read through to find, but where can you listen to Rosebud?
I see a YouTube video but that can’t be played.

I used my vpn set to a new zealand server as suggested and that worked.

I wasn't overly fussed about this release as I've never much liked KYE as an album - individual songs yes but the album always felt like a bunch of random songs thrown together and I rarely played it.
As soon as I saw "remixed" though I squealed love the new artwork too ! Looking forward to seeing FTS back in the setlists and hearing songs that aren't ocean spray !

I am also excited for this release. I think it’s potentially the most interesting of any of their reissues, I really hope it all turns out well, I am very intrigued to hear the remixed tracks.
I think Rosebud is lovely - I’d say the vocal melodies/phrasings are a bit awkward/could have been refined, but this is KYE so I guess it’ll fit in just fine and probably grow on me on repeated listens. Musically/sonically I adore it already.

JDB's voice on Rosebud is incredible. I miss that voice.
Perhaps they discarded the song as it has a similar vibe to Just a Kid. |

Just woken up to Rosebud. Fantastic. Great vocal, musically it's full of interest and produced really well. In fact I listened to Orwellian after which just sounds so underpriced. Rosebud bursts out.
I'm so stoked for this reissue. It's not the best Manics album, but it's my favourite. And remixed. And reimagined. Oh my.

I hope its made clear on the packaging where album ends on its respective CD. The idea that people may think they closed DTTR on Royal Correapondant may hurt their chances of having the material reassessed haha!
