sorry, haven't read the full thread, but is there any further info on this Q vinyl version yet - when it's out, where to buy it, is it limited, etc?

i'd say it will be limited though don't know how many copies. You can order it from Q online from 27th september and it'll be available in selected WH Smiths in october i think. There should be an ad for it in the current Q mag.

Do we have to guess which WH Smiths have been selected? Why don't they just say: "Available at these WH Smith stores...." and then list some of them?

does anyone have any idea how well this "1 song per CD" idea sold when Robbie Williams did it?

(yep, btw, that's right - the Manics are creatively doing something Robbie Williams did 7 years ago)

i actually have it, its pretty lame. every cd has 1 song, and some are radio edits (lmao), and each song has the original cover [though some singles had more than 1 cover, so still not all covers were represented] and no bsides or anything.

there was also a regular greatest hits cd, and its robbie williams, so im sure it sold well. the box itself though, i doubt it sold much.

erm, btw, you are all aware that National Treasures is likely to contain the single / radio edits of the songs again, a la FD, right? it won't be a singles collection if it's album versions, after all.

nah, that would imply they would be worth digging up. boom, and indeed boom, get me coat, etc.

i recalled having a right temper tantrum when we couldn't get that ET game for our Atari back in 82, 83. when i finally got to play it thanks to the magic of the internet i apologized at once to my parents for the distress caused for no reason at all.

Depends how true to the original releases they're going to be. There's a difference between single versions and radio edits (and a further difference with the butchered FD edits). For instance, Motorcycle Emptiness and The Everlasting are both the full six minutes on their respective singles. Even You Love Us included the outro on the single itself.

At the same time, we'll be fortunate to avoid the shitty versions of Roses in the Hospital and Little Baby Nothing.

should be the larger high street stores. Don't bother with the ones in the stations. They might know if they're getting them if you ask in store
