saw the headline and thought...i bet they don't come to Perth, very glad to see we're on the list

might head to Melbourne for the Forum gig too, because i'm from Melbourne and because it's a great venue

us Aussies will have to get a stalker thread together, i'm determined to have a pint with JDB

Depends where you're flying to. On the east coast you can get some very cheap flights with Virgin or Tiger ($30 flights sometimes). I'm in Perth which is on the west coast and about a 5 hour flight from sydney, a bit less to melbourne, getting from here to Melbourne is usually between $180 and $250 depending on how early you book.

just for "scale", $100AUD is the equivalent of...
92USD
69EUR
58GBP

I'm really stoked for you Aussies! I'll be looking forward to reading your stories!

@Shack: thanks for the cost breakdown! Living in Perth must be tough... good thing they're coming your way too!

Melbourne gig, here I come!

All the way over from CHCH, NZ.

I'd follow them around Australia if I had the money

Hey guys,
I'm very excited about this tour however I don't know anyone that likes the Manics enough to go to a gig!
Are any other Sydney based fans in the same boat as me?
I hope the tickets don't sell out to quickly!

Don't worry about that. There'll (no doubt) be other FD fans at the Sydney show - I think this tour is too good an opportunity to pass up.

Yeah, pretty much. Maybe start a thread on here for a Sydney meet up before hand and see who's around. That's what I'd do, but then I'd quite happily go to a gig that I really wanted to see on my own if it came to it.

That was a great show in 2008! Was at that too, took some snaps

But the Forum for the Manics is utterly brilliant. It's the best venue in the country, with it's tacky roman sculptures, incredible ceiling, great sound and incredible atmosphere.

Can't wait.

Went to the Prince of Wales gig in 1999, pub in St Kilda. Remains in the top 3 shows I've ever seen... The small venues for these guys make for an amazing gig.

So happy to get them back here after 11 years...

I'll travel up from Melbourne. Might head over to Adelaide too with a bit of luck.

Are they all your shots? Very nice stuff there. I especially like your Joe Satriani and Jenny Lewis () sets.

I'm so glad they are playing in Australia, as i said earlier, i miss them by a day, going for the second test in Adalaide. Wanted to go to Australia all my life, it sounds a wonderful country and now i know the Manics play there, i might just stay...if they'd have me

Thanks mate, yeah they are. I think the Weller & U2 ones are my favourites. I'm not a pro by any stretch.

Thanks for looking, hopefully snap a few at shows in November :-)
