I'm not a huge fan of SKON but meh, I will buy it, maybe not on the release date, especially now as I must consider the flights to LDN in Jan.
if life gets shitty then in all aspects.

They released The Everlasting as a 'Christmas single' and that didn't do very well, so what's the point in releasing SKON at the same time, which is a similar sort of song? Odd.

I would say it's got more Ooomph...... I would have released All We Make is Entertainment but it would have been lost on most of the population.

finally got the album this week. played it a few times. SKON got skipped after the 3rd play. utter, utter fucking shit - i think the duet was conjured up as a novelty to hide just how fucking dire this song is.

they are releasing this as a single? it must be piss cheap to make & release a single these days, knowing that fans (like me, i wager) will buy it just to get the b-sides.

Billion Balconies, Postcards, All We Make and possibly even Hazleton Avenue shit on SKON, what the fuck are they playing at?

OK, i'll try....but it's a big ask mate......

....just had it on again. over-produced and far too much going on for it to be a viable hit single, really, or even something i would play for pleasure. i might give it some space and try it again when the singles that i shall inevitably order turn up. In mid-January 2011, going on Townshend records ship to us in the rest of the world

going on the rest of the album, having It's Not War & SKON as the singles could be an even bigger fuck up from the band than when they bewilderingly did not release 1985 as a single.

oh it hasn't? sorry, haven't followed all the details, but the last time i saw the sales thread it seemed that PFAYM was suffering badly in sales week after week?

not sure how LB compared in sales to PFAYM but i am sure someone can tell me. however, didn't both TLORN and Empty Souls chart quite high? that being the case (if it was), then that would be the argument for a 3rd single, surely? "wow, 3 great singles, let's get the album".

although, to be honest, i kind of meant to infer that 1985 should have been a single instead of TLORN.

Ordered online. I think we could/should start a campaign for Xmas number one... In true Manics style it'll probably bomb, but you never know!?!!??! And there's more glory in failure than in not trying at all.

PFAYM hasnt set the charts on fire by any means but i think someone mentioned it sold more in its first week (or longer) than SATT and JFPL. That sounds a bit wrong as SATT got to number two but something like that anyway. Indie/Rock is generally out of favour in the british charts at the mo' and with that in mind its meant to have done quite well

Lifeblood only reached number 13 i think and then sank

Is SKON available to be ordered on Townsend then for when it's released?
