It is a very large and heavy book so be warned!

Mine's still not arrived. A package did come in the mail from Amazon though, I looked at it on the floor and thought it was small. Looked at the address and it was for some woman down the road.Stupid bloody postman! Hopefully mine will come tomorrow.

Mine just came now, at 7:30!! It's big. I've not looked through really, just flipped the pages and read the back of the book. There's a lot of white space on the pages, could do with more pics or larger versions or some next...or borders. Still, it's nice. Here's a few pics for people curious about the book:

Christ, I haven't posted in here for years, although I often lurk mysteriously in the shadows...

Anyway, my copy arrived today and to be honest, I can't see it being something which many people will flick through more than a couple of times. I don't know whether I didn't read enough about it in the first place and so had unrealistic expectations, but I was expecting lots of candid photos of the band with their guard down etc. Instead, there are only a handful of photos of the early years, which most of us will have seen before as they were test shots during photo shoots given to Nicky by the press photographers. Too many of Wire's and Ikeda's snaps are of random landscapes and trees (so many bloody trees!), which just aren't that interesting and there are numerous photos which may have been fascinating but have been 'artfully' scratched and scribbled on, thus obscuring much of the subject.

Just my initial reaction you understand, I hope it isn't shared by too many others. At the very least, it will look nice on my bookshelf due to its wonderful pinkness.

It's exactly what I was expecting in terms of content. Anyone who's seen the TIMT era sleeves/booklets should have expected the same. Trees are members of the Manics too, don't you know? Sean wishes he was born a tree.

Good quality cover and pages as well. Can't grumble at the price on this occasion.

You're not moaning about the stickers on the front then Kirb?

No, what's the problem with them? I've seen and own similar designs to this cover before. It's pretty common. They could have been glossier/more expensive/whatever but it's not something I'd want to moan about.

By the way, it's been removed for sale from Amazon while it's under review after a customer complaint. It would be exciting to think we have another soap opera on our hands but I really can't see how a customer can say the product itself 'isn't as described' beyond their individual copy being damaged in some way.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Death-Polar...1015150&sr=8-1

Now, SATT, there was a product that wasn't released as described.
