I'm sure we will get the Manics going off on a different tangent again. Will be interesting to see what they come up with!
Miss Europa Disco Dancer?

I don't want the Manics to go all proggy because that's not who they are (and I like PFAYM and stuff) but I do wish they would loosen up a bit when it comes to song structures; the self-imposed time limits/structural repetitions feel more like forced restrictions than relaxed songwriting that just happened to go that way. And I do think the next album might do something about it, after all PFAYM was the last shot at mass communication so chorus-heavy, simple pop structures were pretty much expected from the era. Even if it's just more songs that go on for more than four minutes.

He did the music, not the lyrics.
I stand corrected

I believe the band will probably not start recording anything until late 2012/early 2013 now. I think they will use 2013 to really knuckle down and record an album. I don't honestly think they will do the whole 70 songs thing but I am anticipating that the next album will be something completely strange and unique. Some of the last few b-sides have kind of hinted at a more experimental direction but they may have written them, off the cuff, during a rainy Tuesday afternoon in the studio - who the hell knows?. I definitely think the band need to actually Think about the next album with more of an open mind rather than simply record a by-the-numbers radio friendly album. There are certain younger bands around today who come up with original stuff.

Well I've been thinking about the new Manics album all day from time to time.
But still haven't got any news. Do you think they've recorded the interviews for the GT Anniversary for Autumn, yet?

I reckon Dubstep would work with live musicians. Anyway, a year from now after Muse album, I think they'll be even more sick to death of Muse, and there will be more than a few people thinking "I should have stuck with the Manics instead..."

There are certain younger bands that have come up with utter guff as well!
