2004/05 was great, but to hear it in full live would be unreal!

Only, please Manics, no fucking keyboard organ playing and ruining half the set, as per usual. Not this time!

My memory might be a bit blurry on this one, but on the 05 tour, did they not have a guitar/keyboard player rather than just keys? Was this not Eringa as well?

I always thought the idea of a joing keys/guitar player made the most sense for them. Play keys on the newer stuff, and then guitar for the old stuff.

The best MSP live sound was from one guitar and one wobbly sounding keyboard. I liked the sparseness.

It sounds too "polished" now.

Pretty sure they had the second guitarist too, but my memory is rubbish. Keyboard is often just turned up too much in the mix for my liking.

I like instruments to be where they're meant to be live. I don't like that bloody organ embedded right the way through something like Faster.

Of Walking Abortions at Wolverhampton Civic Hall in 2011 was probably the most epic moment in my Manics gigging life. 3,000 + saying ''who's responsible...!''

Probably did yeah.

Thing is if you have one keyboard, at stage volume, whatever you do if there's only a single guitar with it, then it's bound to have a certain presence in the mix. When the 2nd guitar was introduced it did bring a certain balance that was missing before I think.

As I said, for some songs, the extra keys are not needed. I know why they do it (for backing for solos etc) but that's what rhythm guitar is for.

If hypothetically someone were to be hoping for a new Manics UK tour then one might suggest tomorrow would be a good day to keep your ears open

I'm not sure they will do a tour, more likely a one off gig perhaps. Glastonbury and MAYBE a warmup gig elsewhere. Would be amazing either way. Especially if they did some of THB era B-Sides

i say Manics to do the whole of THB as a headline set on any night you like at Glasto. i say we say to the band "we don't give a fuck if they have huge corporate sponsors everywhere, we know it is fuck all to do with you".

i just like the idea of the BBC broadcasting that one. and the idea of Glasto headliners not being "mature" rockers with a re-re-re-reissue to flog, some random black person from America and/or fucking Coldplay.
