Me too. It's got more feeling than everything on SATT and PFAYM combined.

I beg to differ.

Don't agree about SATT and Postcards lacking feeling though!

It's a real tear-jerking beaut. A great song about growing old, drifting apart and losing your way. It says so perfectly everything they tried and failed to on PFAYM.
It sounds like a goodbye, you can hear the history of the band in it. I'm losing all my innocence I know I've stopped making much sense I think I'll leave and I'll take some rest Fearful of the future now The future is now But it's true the things you feel don't go The people that you love hold on The majesty, the majesty Pre-eminent amongst the free Happy and drifting endlessly Baby I lost my way Following our star But I guess that's just how you are

Aye, easily one of their very greatest. It's a crime how they just chucked it as one of the token new songs on a compilation (and a non-single one at that) so they can easily pretend it never exists. That song demands a strong place in the canon.
Easily one of the best lyrics of the band's history as well.

I still maintain the FD tracks, their b-sides and the first half of Lifeblood are the best run of songs they've recorded outside of their two classic records, THB and JFPL.

it DOES almost *not* exist. i like it as well, i often forget its existence, due to that simple fact - just tossing it in a best of collection. its funny when bands do that, sometimes the singles there turn out to be better than some of the "greatest hits". i got carried away there and lost my train of thought.
