that one might have an easy answer - when i order items from the UK that are shipped from the UK (i.e. not a Jersey tax dodge. hello HMV) the VAT is removed and you have to pay tax on this side.

either that or it's just more class calculations from Sony.

The US price is about 47 cents cheaper than the Canadian price. $259.99 vs $260.46.

wow, a response with seconds to go before their "within 24 hours" deadline elapsed :

Hi,

I'm sorry to inform you that at this point of time the Track listing is not available for "NATIONAL TREASURES - THE COMPLETE SINGLES DELUXE VERSION". Once the tracks listing are updated you will be able to view on the web page.

Sincerely,

Sony Music Digital

what, a little over a month to go before it is released and they do not know what the tracklisting is? bullshit.

I am a bit optimistic, maybe Sony are panicking and finally they throw in the B-Sides as we want. Let's hope and wait...

i know the world of music is littered with astonishing turnaround times for producing something - Band Aid and War Child spring to mind. in those two cases, though, you are speaking of everyone waiving any rights or permissions and the records being produced as quickly as possible for a good cause, not the profits of some Japanese record company.

in the most recent withdrawal and change to a CD set that i am aware of, certain members of Frankie Goes To Hollywood legally blocked the release of the "deluxe" edition of their second album as there was a dispute over if some of the tracks were even done by the band. the album was pressed in Nov/Dec 2010 with a release date scheduled for Feb 2011. it finally turned up in an amended form in June 2011.

considering the minefield of royalties and rights in regards of putting all of the b-sides onto the set "all of a sudden" (mindful of there was possibly no agreement to put 7" or cassette single only tracks out on a different format), not to mention ditching that which they have already pressed and repressing & reprinting everything, i can't see any change to whatever it is they have in mind to release happening.

i would suggest they know exactly what is on the set and are simply not revealing it. going on the wording of the original appearance, i think we know why.

i will, however, be delighted to be 100% wrong.

you're probably right. Having the b-sides would be a massive selling point so why not say so? Instead they chuck in a mirror and a comb or whatever tat it is? MUST mention that or no one will buy it!

Maybe they won't tell us because it's really an empty box...you open it and all you hear is wire laughing his ass off.

That's what the O2 will be like.

Seriously though, that box had better be every single with all the B-Sides. Thats the only way I'm parting with £165.
