Regarding the keyboards.
During Everything Must Go and Autumn Song, they were most noticably awry. However, whilst at first (during EMG) I thought he was playing completely out of key, I realised during Autumn Song that he was actually a "chord" ahead (or behind, can't remember now) all the time. Either he really didn't know the songs, and was playing from sheet music and reading it wrong, or there was a strange issue with the broadcast, and the piano track was out of sync. Given that UEF didn't notice it, I'm assuming it was the second theory. Moreover, although James doesn't use inner ear monitors, even if he only had guitar, drums, bass and vocals coming through his monitors, there's no way he'd not catch some piano at some point during either of those songs, and he'd notice, and he'd get pissed off - he's a professional. So I'm pretty sure it was a broadcast sync issue, not him actually playing out of tune. Couple this with the terrible censorship (why get a band with "Repeat after me, fuck Queen and country" and "We don't want your fucking love" as a band to play, then censor them?) and the poor mixing on both the tambourine mic and nicky's vocals (and bass imho) and you've got an average gig (with non-hardcore crowd) and bad mixing. IKWYM about general public, I've been to a few iTunes shows where the audience just talked the whole way through until the band did their 'hit', and then they carried on talking. Makes you wanna kick them in the shins.

Once you're in the reserve queue there's no kind of priority so even if you have somone else's ticket it's not guaranteed you get in. Though there seemed to be lots left over last night and the whole reserve queue managed to get in. |

Gutted that I missed the stream, going to have to keep up to date the next time because I didn't even know it was on. But I see everybody had a great time so I hope they enjoyed themselves

I'm with Hanna on this one, there must have definitely been something wrong with the broadcasting as we sure did have a fantastic time and venue wise it all sounded pretty good and in sync. Yes it was safe setlist which was just as well as it was a lot of people experiencing the Manics live for the first time, which I kind of quite enjoyed as the front row barrier was crushed at all and there was plenty of room to dance and head bang! But as for Sean Read and the keys... I actually thought how good they was sounding in places.
Loved the Everlasting and seeing Hanna's face beam around the screens haha.... |

They sure love their power ballads these days don't they?
Autumnsong and The Everlasting in one gig. Do they hate their fans that much? |

Plus, spelling the name of the Manics' keyboardist correctly has never been a strong point, not even for the band, seen as they couldn't even decide on how to spell Naysmith in their own album booklets Quote:
