You'll be fairly near but I'd hesitate to assure you of the barrier but 80% likely you'll get a spot.

I'm worried as well (well, not really, but I stand standing in the middle of the venue, it's the worse spot. It would be better stand at the back of the arena, then!)
I was talking about The Borderline...it's kinda an institution for the history of live music

You're not 100% guaranteed to get the barrier regardless of what time you show up in a venue like the O2 to be fair. Anything can happen once doors open (see MEN 2004 for example). But the cynical part of my brain thinks you'll be fine for the barrier a lot closer to doors than 10am...

Because of all above bullshit, I keep at least a 3 metre distance from any queue at Manics gigs before doors open (walked on other side of road at Edinburgh last year, crossed road & walked along beach at Llandudno etc etc)

You might be nice people, and would be nice to meet you all at some point (but not in a queue) It just ain't for me..

Can I just ask how you intend to queue at a venue with multiple entrances?

I'd like to concur: Shop, go sightseeing, drinking etc, do anything in one of the world's greatest cities... apart from sitting outside an arena for 9 hours.

You know what? I thought the very same thing a couple of days ago. I remembered the queue outside an Italian soccer stadium for R.E.M., which obviously has different entrances, but the situation was different because I had a fanclub ticket with early access, so I didn't have to worry about that.
But now...it's a different story, isn't it?
Argh.
It's my 1st gig, I want to get a proper spot! It's not so creepy, now is it?

moreover, it'll be my 10th time in London, and since I'm really done with all the touristy stuff, I don't mind queueing early
