Is that true? Because the website store is not available in Switzerland. AARGHH
Apparently it is the only way to order it so far. Townsend used to ship to Switzerland. But since the "new" version of the website their store doesn't anymore Looks like we'll have to find anther way of getting it, IF we decide to get it...

that's fucked up - they send here and we are usually amongst the first to get blacklisted on mailing.

so much for their "ship worldwide" claim, then. made all the more bizarre as a number of stores - off the top of my head recordstore and amazon - seem to ship from or via Switzerland.

just to check, though, are you certain you are accessing the right link? sorry if the answer is "yes obviously" but here it is again anyway just to check.

i think anyone who pre-orders without confirmation of Sony's interpretation of "all CD1 b-sides" is either very brave, very wealthy or just very Gutless Wonder.

Just to throw my two cents into this discussion... I already have almost everything that could possibly be on this, in some form - CD, vinyl, cassette tape, or mp3. (I even have a second copy of the CD1 of either Revol or She Is Suffering, I can't remember which it is, that I really should get rid of.)
Therefore, there is no good reason for me to buy it, in any form. And since I'm still unemployed, and have no money in the bank to spare, I'm not going to.
Oh, maybe in a year to two, if I find it really cheap, and I have a job, the inner urge to complete my Manics collection will make me buy it.

All CD1 b-sides makes sense to me. You'll get all the CD1s as originally made. It's a singles collection, you'll get all the singles and some of the b-sides.

I'm actually tempted now it seems they're including some B-sides... which is daft because I have all the tracks already. /rant/But collecting is not about the logical acquisition of tracks in one format and then stopping, and neither is it about reasoned defences of value for money purchases. It's a hobby. I think it's a bit over the top to call people stupid etc if they want to buy it knowing what they're getting. I think people deciding to smoke is a stupid decision, for example, but that's because it harms their health, not because it costs them loads of money, it's their choice how to spend money on something they enjoy./rant/

This is my truth. I wouldn't buy this for £165 even if it included all the b-sides. Most of the cassette/vinyl b-sides have been on Japan re-issues, so I've got most of the tracks on CD anyway. I can live without having the few that I haven't, especially at £165. There is nothing else in there that interests me for the money.

Seems to me this boxset could have been a real labour of love, and if they cared enough, it would have been. Instead there's just an unsavoury taste of commercialism. It's a 'collectable' for the sake of collectability, rather than making something genuinely worth buying. A shame.

But for example on the TLORN disc you'd just have Everyone Knows Nobody Cares and not Everything Will Be or Askew Road. Surely it doesn't make sense to leave these out? They'd have to alter the original artwork slightly to include these on the tracklist but that's not too much of a problem is it?
