Indeed, I was thinking of that and found it a nice touch to the setlist.

(not a fanatic setlist nerd so I've no idea about the band's habits through the years)

For the people who care Takk neglected to mention the most important part of my text, that James' fringe was HORRIFIC and Nicky was wearing all white and a sailor hat, and a gret T shirt, and was lovely, waved at Nicola. Nicola has also asked me to mention that the blazer was at first done up and then unbuttoned and then done up again. The addition of the sailor hat and sunglasses was for You Love Us.

James was wearing combats and customary black shirt, he looked good apart from his hair.

He also dedicated The Everlasting to 'a girl in the crowd called Mylene', which is ironic considering it's the worst song in the set [Nicola disagrees, she says it was Ocean Spray]. Nice gesture but it did make me laugh. He also dedicated a song to the Lisbon fans.

Off to spend the day round Lisbon now. Could go and see Pearl Jam but think they're overrated.

Interesting setlist. It's a festival setlist so I think there'll be a slight shakeup for the new tour - new songs obviously and a few that have been menioned. Kevin Carter needs a rest though no matter what the gig is. I just hope they put some passion and energy into EMG cos it's always so lacklustre and dull these days Suicide Is Painless though, coooooool!!!

Amazing gig...It was my first one of theirs, so I'm still a bit over the moon. Thrilled that I managed a place on the barrier too
Would made 1 or 2 changes on the setlist, but all in all I don't have much complains.

I hope they buy some new stage outfits by the time of the new album. So sick of Nicky's white jacket and James in that black shirt with the epaulettes.

Funnily enough they have improved EMG a lot. It always bored me but last night it was in my top three songs of the set, the other two of which were Suicide In Painless, obvs, and Tolerate, which is still mindblowingly good when rocked-up at the end of the set.

I still really like EMG, I wouldn't be averse to them playing it during the Postcards tour.

You know, for a while now I've been toying with the idea of typing up my thoughts on every Manics song during the many hours of free time of mine (I am a uni student after all ). I just noticed the link in your signature, and it's inspired me to begin soon. Ta.
