Just do THB and GT TBH.

Or at least play DIFFERENT songs off the popular albums.

Play for three hours!

I always feel bad for setlist moaning.

Yes Nicky, you're right, it IS impossible to please all your fans unless you do 3 hour sets like Paul McCartney. Hmmm, who else does sets of that length? Oh yes, Springsteen...

Wow, James was really fucking up the vocals to ADFL there.

Any chance of it dropping from the setlists in the near future, I wonder?

Nice little doc, waaay too short but oh well. Nice that James sees a future in the band.

What happened to the acoustic stuff they did? Nicky/Sean/WEK if you're reading can you put it on the official site/youtube please?

All that stuff (Lifeblood, TBTGOG, God Save The Manics etc) was excellent. Maybe not as good as THB and JFPL, but certainly more interesting than redoing EMG every couple of albums, as they sound like they want to do
By the time God Save the Manics came out I think they knew the score. Nicky had delved into Richey's words for inspiration or to purely nick some words.

Apparently James wasn't playing as much guitar and he wasn't enjoying playing guitar. That does kind of show on the album for he had a tough time writing songs while trying to get away from the guitar. It's a shame Lifeblood's been blacklisted to such a degree cause there is some good stuff in there. I'm sure there's a Beatles reference or something you could compare it to.

Don't feel bad. The Manics moaning about not being able to play long enough to satisfy everyone is like Premiership footballers who complain about having to play 180 minutes of football in a week.

Let's not get them started on the "Bruce Springsteen-esque sets" again

I bet they wouldn't dare. Most they'd probably do is re-jig it in the setlist and play Motown Junk last or something instead, like on the PPF tour.

And Nicky, I don't expect you to learn EVERY single song in your back catalogue, just don't always resort to Kevin Carter/EMG/Ocean Spray.

I'm looking forward to hearing PFAYM (the song) live.

Just ask Nicky, he seems to have a Beatles comparison for everything they fucking do these days.

Slightly, but there are no rules about gig lengths. We get over 20 songs per gig and there's always something relatively new or interesting, they're not the best band for setlists, but not the worst. I genuinely think they're scared of being too obscure in their choices.

In fairness he's been indoctrinated into the glorious world of the indulgent musician. He said as such in the doc. It's usually how muso types go about it - Beatles ref. here and a Beatles ref. there.

Yeah though they shouldnt be. Thats a fear if the album does go number 1 comes Sunday and Sony see the £££ signs in their eyes and think 'ARENA TOUR!!!' even though they'd just be half empty again like they were for SATT and then they'd just stick to the Greatest Hits set.
