The FOPP (which HMV have pointlessly Invested in) in Tottenham Crt Road was imo a Proper Record Store:

Take a CD and personal stereo from behind the counter and listen to it in the Cafe downstairs whilst reeading/looking through a Book from the shelf downstairs and having a Petermann Artois (rip) on Tap!

Corpse - how endearing to find someone still clinging onto the indie ideals, oooh I'll never shop in a corporate monster, its Big Dave's Lp & Tape Emporium for me.
