yeah. i kinda like them not tweeting what they are going to play, because it makes for a surprise.

but further away, suicide alley, new art riot and pcp? They couldn't have played some of them in the uk?

I guess it makes it even better though, to surprise those that are there with a song they weren't told to expect. For those not going to Japan in the first place, would one extra song (as well as New Art Riot) that they don't play that often really make that much difference to their decision to go?

They did play 38 songs though. That's quite a lot for one night, and for Nicky's back!

Jesus. I would hate if they told us they were going to play PCP. Thinking about it, it's a bit silly they told us they were going to play Further Away as well. That would have been a lovely surprise.

Yeah, it's only that some of those were UK releases and ignored from their history that's annoying. Could've predicted PCP knowing my luck though. Been to many gigs and just missed it on tours a few times, seen James tease it or hint at playing it during interviews and still didn't get it at a singles gig. I want to hear it live just once. The quest continues!

True, it's just if you think about this one gig thats 4 super rare songs which they've not played for years in the uk...if people were travelling to say london to see the gig from the states they could have gone to japan instead .

That...was the BEST GIG I HAVE EVER SEEN EVER. Second best Manics gig ever was last night. Band were spectacular. Even the songs I don't like sounded immense; Everything Must Go and Autumnsong were incredible. Japanese fans put everyone else to shame. I haven't been crushed and bruised on a barrier of a Manics gig for years. Everyone singing and headbanging and looking like they were loving it I love Japan.

New Art Riot was awesome. Really awesome. Funny to have Nick N back on keyboards too, though he's no Readie.

You will never forgive Nicky for the french bread thing, won't you?
I couldn't have gone to Japan even if I had known that but it would have been polite to say before thay they thought to play it.
