Sounds renewed and refreshed. Very much liking this. Not too bothered by Hawley's major presence - would have preferred more James but Hawley's voice works great in this so not a problem.

I'm buzzing with excitement for the album. I felt the song needed more James but the music and his parts make it all worthwhile. A beautiful song. I hope we hear the new single shortly. I absolutely love the strings and these are some of nickys strongest lyrics in a while. I actually feel something here.

On first listen, it sounded like an outtake from Pulp's excellent We Love Life album, which is in no way a complaint. It's just very different for the Manics and that in itself is to be applauded. It's growing on me with each new listen, though I feel Richard Hawley's guest vocals are perhaps too prominent.

so is Rewind the film the single now? on 6music they keep on referencing it as the "new manics single" i was under the impression show me the wonder was the single

Well, it's for sale, about to be played on the radio and surely chart eligible.

It doesn't, however, have a physical release, its own unique artwork even for the download or a video.

If it makes top 40 they'll officially add it to their list of singles. If it doesn't, they won't.
