If you order the online streaking deluxe version you get a longer version of them demoing Imperial Bodybags and a longer interview. So good I've bought 2 copies now!

To the makers: MORE studio/guitar stuff please!!!

Just watched the bonus Nicky and Sean interview, I loved the last 5 minutes of it where they argue and disagree about popular culture and history haha! I wish there was some more bonus stuff on there like studio footage, extended fan interviews. The meeting Rush interview kind of bored me a bit at 30 mins long but it's still cool to see.

I did not expect the DVD direct from the producers as fast as that!

So No Manifesto and extras today then.

I remember participation in this film being offered from the days when the official site had it's own forum. I wished them well but didn't feel worthy enough to contribute.
Still pleased with that decision after finishing the film.
The thing that really made me laugh was Nicky saying some days even he doesn't know what Sean's going on about!
It was worth the wait. I might have posted differently about this point in lost archived "No Manifesto" threads, but I now see how using excerpts is better than the "Song Remains The Same" full songs.
Really loving the fact that a lot of KYE stuff got attention as JFPL.
Maybe I should watch more music documentaries, but "No Manifesto" enjoyed me more than "Some Kind Of Monster".
Oh yeah, and I also laughed at James admitting they'd written some funny songs by accident.

Watched it last night.

A decent watch. Agree with comments above re: fan interviews and the cartoon segments.

Some called it a patchwork type of effort and I think that's a fair description.

One question I have: The title is No Manifesto and this is played up at the start of the doc. But Jimbo talks explicitly about their "Denialism" manifesto halfway through. So which is it?

i for one hope that more manics blu rays will be released. it'd be amazing to get cardiff millennioum and cuba in blu ray, if they were shot in HD. and also later concerts. they MUST have tons of stuff filmed, might as well release that shit.

like the O2 show, that was definitely filmed no?

Just got my copy yesterday and immediately watched it. Jesus Christ, I love the Manics. The film was utterly wonderful and I was so shocked to see interviews with American fans. There are others like me! What a lovely teaser for the upcoming US dates. The filmmakers did a tremendous job.

Not professionally (so no over-audience cameras etc.)

You won't get Cardiff or Cuba in proper HD as they were filmed on 576p PAL tape presumably.

The more I see it, the more bizarre I find the familiarity of it. When I became a Manics fan, they still felt distant, I didn't know much about them and I'd never seen them. Now I'm watching clips from gigs I was at and seeing dozens of faces I see all around the country every year. So strange how what was once strange now seems familiar.

It feels a bit like this to me, too. It's strange to think that there was once a time when "Manic Street Preachers" was just some weird band name I'd heard somewhere.
