If you want an answer, maybe you should ask him directly via one of the social media outlets he's been busy selling his wares on.

I'm listening to the sampler (not checking out the full songs via radio etc, saving that for the album) and bouncing on my chair giddily like during my biggest fanboy days. Yessssss!!!

The last 3 songs, from what I've heard sound terribly dull. Mayakovsky is just embarrassing what with Wire's shouting all over it. Not a great way to end the album.

The rest sounds alright, I think I probably expected something more angular, and a little less of the big choruses. I wasn't anticipating them reinventing the wheel, but maybe hoped for something a bit more left field. I do like the whole concept and the sound they've gone for though, and aside from JFPL, it'll probably get more plays than any of the albums they've done since Lifeblood.

From listening to rewind and now futurology it has left me in an emotional place I wasn't expecting. I wish the manics would be bold and brave by dumping their greatest hits. Forget thb 20, motorcycle emptiness, YSTSFMH etc....... Save the greatest hits for festivals, Draw a line and using these 2 new albums as a base of songs for live gigs.

I couldn't think of anything worse now than THB gig. I'm 40 and the thought of trying to recapture, recreate or continuing reflection now feels embarrassing.

New stuff sounds appropriately aged in mood, sound, freedom and breath and I want to keep the cobwebs blown away.

I FUCKING LOVE THEM.
I kinda of know where your coming from but motorcycle emptiness, faster, You Love Us sound better live now than they did back in 98/99 era

BTCATB is awesome and I think Gartside actually works. Took a few listens. Black Square is a bit like Tokyo Skyline for me, it's lovely musically but it's not a song I'd run to. I am living the title track, EGDM, SPLAM and DAC(H). WMTTB has worn off on me a lot.

I think my favourites so far are Futurology, Europa, Dreaming A City, Black Square and maybe WMTTB. Keep changing my mind on some though, including the latter and Let's Go To War. Not sure on BTCATB and SPLM yet, but highly anticipating Next Jet, Divine Youth & Misguided Missile from what I've heard from the sampler.

I...don't know what to say. It just killed all excitement i had about this album. Maybe it will grow on me, but going by the sampler i just wanted it to be over. Oh god that track with the rap, the butchering of LGTW, the title track...nothing at all like what i expected. Where is the Post Punk Disco Rock they spoke of? Where are the spiky guitars they promised? All i can hear is overproduction, its like GATS all over again. The band seem lost in the mix...is there even a band?

Those are my thoughts right now, could change...but wow I'm disappointed like a kid wanting a bike for Xmas and receiving socks.

You've taken some stick for your snarky comments lately but though I often marvel at your constant snarkiness you still crack me up, never change DK!

For all the whining and complaining, most people here will still buy the CD or download and open it like an excited toddler does to his favourite Christmas present.

Judging by that video it sounds like Lifeblood part 2, which is fine enough by me and it sounds great in places, but the stuff about it being The Holy Bible's "bedfellow" sound ridiculous. Divine Youth sounds a bit like James' collaboration with 808 State from years ago. That's it for me til it comes out - not listening to anything from it again til Monday.

I am pretty sure that was written by someone that comes on FD, oddly enough.
