No bad use of English there!
It's not sung like that though! Anyway, enough with the "Manics can do no wrong" campaign. It is not a crime to be objective.

It is sung that way!

No one's saying it's a crime to be objective. Please continue!

OK, there might be one or two lines where James skips the 'have', I shall have to relisten to make sure!

If you manage to listen to it again, can I suggest a dose of PCP, or maybe Solitude Sometimes Is to fix things?

For the record - I don't mind it as such, it's just THAT LYRIC....

I can't argue with that, and must say you are without doubt the hardest of hardcore MSP fan(atic) I've seen on here, for your total defence of almost everything they do.

But.......
A good pop lyric it may be, but hell I'm not a "pop" fan, and MSP lyrics are not regular "pop". If I wanted good pop lyrics, I'd listen to the shite that Cowell churns out, but I'm an old, old Manics fan, and I don't. I'm an unashamed lyric snob, and I demands MOAR!! I want more than good pop lyrics because Wire can do so much more than good pop lyrics. If the song was made by anyone else I'd probably like it a lot more (as I've said before I love the guitar, and the verse isn't bad lyrically, at least they look like Manics lyrics!), but it's not. They are capable of doing so much more, and have done before and since. It's not terrible in comparison with all the other shite that's out there, but in comparison with everything else they've done - AAAAAARRRGGGHH THAT line....

Underdogs on the other hand, I LIKE IT. A LOT.

It does sound a bit like a cymbal which I guess is why nobody cared about it before or since.

OK, I think this needs a little work, but wtf let's go for it.

Autumnsong THB/CoR edition

Eyes of darkness, despair blackness
Face hiding lost in paint,
Love's meaning buried in hate,
No reason for birth creation destruction

Hair unclean soiled washed in bleach
Autumn leaves fall on wet ground
We are the useless hairdressers
Hopeless mousse fail bad dye quality
Unclean soiled hair (x4)

Autumnsong falling apart
Can't get my head clean too weak to run
Autumnsong falling apart
Childhood lost along with shampoo

Hair unclean soiled washed in bleach
Autumn leaves fall on wet ground
We are the useless hairdressers
Hopeless mousse fail bad dye quality
Unclean soiled hair (x4)

Eyes piercing darkness of loathing
I hide my face in eyeliner
Love with no meaning hate is real
Creation lost in dying seasons
Lost in dying seasons (x4)

Autumnsong falling apart
Can't get my head clean too weak to run
Autumnsong falling apart
Childhood lost along with shampoo

No bunches, no hair only gel
Jacket restraining the soul.

Autumnsong falling apart
Can't get my head clean too weak to run

Autumnsong falling apart
Can't get my head clean too weak to run
Autumnsong falling apart
Childhood lost along with shampoo
