Nicky really wants another number-one album, another week to upload the 'super duper uber bundle' with t-shirts, posters, see-through vinyl and a painting Nicky Wire ruined.

I knew a Richey anniversary was coming but I didn't know how close the rescheduled date was.
I also think the last song in the album trailer is how the album actually starts.
And to reference a previous FD thread, it sounds like it's based around the GATS wanking sound!
I know I'm deaf but first vocal. That isn't James singing in Welsh, is it?
Has anyone worked out a transcript?

Not welsh, first vocal in trailer is football style chant "What happened to your critical thinking".

For unheard songs I can pick out Critical Thinking, One Man Militia and Brush Strokes of Reunion. Any other guesses ?

Having researched the subject thoroughly at lunch time I can confirm that after Journal For Plague Lovers and Postcards from a young Man this is the third Manics album not to feature a song with a single word title. Unless you don't count the J. D.s in Marlon J. D. as being words in which case it's the second.

Im actually stupidly optimistic about liking this Manics album.

In all seriousness, when they talk about recording an album separately it normally turns out shite (RiF looking at you) - and Nicky has been saying this a lot lately in interviews. So that’s not a good sign. (And remember they made a big thing about camping out in Rockfield recording or finishing recording TUVL). But we will see.

But liking the guitar sounds we have heard so far.

People Ruin Paintings sounds so Even in Exile to me with its funny chords and echoey guitars

https://store.manicstreetpreachers.c...hardcover-book confirms that Steven Wilson's Decline & Fall remix is a bonus track on the deluxe edition. Still no word on the Japanese bonus track(s).

Yeah, the trailer is much more promising than I imagined. Still half expecting a clunker, but I think it's going to at least be interesting rather than all Manics-by-numbers, which is not what I expect a few months back.

There’s a part of the track which is the exact melody from the chorus of 4 Ever Delayed. Now I’ve heard it, I can’t unhear it, so have to sing “4 Ever Ever Delayed!” over it.

Thanks! Hahaha! I've got to change batteries more often. February listening will be fun. And as most healthcare professionals say drilling holes in my head won't make much difference, here's to the future!

It’s the Manics vs Inhaler (vs The Weeknd’s second week) for number 1.

Probably also means they'll only play 4/5 songs from it on the tour.
