Yeah Liz, it looks like a pretty slow evening. Oh well, rest up for tomorrow nights gig as I'm sure there will be far more tweets going on in NYC...bigger venue.

When you get a chance, check out the YT vid of ADFL posted in the Toronto gig thread. It's a beautiful thing to see!

Goodnight hun! I'm on Twitter too so if I see anything, I'll post it here, kay? Look after those horsies!

Correct me if I'm wrong as I've had a few drinks tonight. Also Nicky broke my heart on the sidewalk before the show. too busy for a picture cause he had to bring james a sandwich

Also recognized a bunch of FD'ers right in front of me but it was one of my anti-social days so I didnt say much. PS no offence to the rest of you but one of you is terribly gorgeous, to the point were you distracted me from Nicky.

Secondly, gig report:

*There was a crowd invasion of the stage after the gig finished when a few cheeky buggers tried to get the setlists. There was impressive manhandling from Davo, and then I asked very, very politely for a setlist and drumstick and got them! Yay!

*NO EVERLASTING!!!! This makes me beyond happy

*Nicky was wearing a lovely hat, and for some reason only put his sunglasses on for Design. He was also jumping A LOT!

*Afterwards James said that he would try and bring back This Joke Sport Severed for me by putting it to a vote with the rest of the band. He was worried about the reception but I promised I'd cheer.

*Nicky declared this Faster as the best sung Faster of the tour!

*The entire venue seemed to be at the stage door. Nicky told everyone that him and Castro are like that *crosses fingers*. He also said the venue floor was a dodgy "ruptured disc" floor.

*Martin still seems up for the 30-date UK mega tour that's apparently next year when the new record is finished, and reiterated they'd be playing smaller town venues. Looks likely this is happening, which is great!

*Sean stayed and chatted, much to our amusement. The tiredness has obviously got to him so much so that he can no longer run!

*The venue bar staff came to the front row and took about three rounds of drinks orders for everyone, which was epic! There were also special menus with Manic Street Preachers written across the top, which was exciting and which we have taken!

*I got three handshakes off James, each one with "Thank you for coming!" He seemed very distressed that I'd flown over to see them, bless him.

*The support are actually hilarious. My favourite tune is the Love Song For Cannabis. Profound stuff. Unintentionally made me crack up laughing!

*Can't remember anymore but I'm now going to shower and sleep and be up early for the drive to New York in the morning. Was lovely to meet ShinySparkly as well, it was a nice queue! I would have said goodbye but I couldn't find you. See you tomorrow! Sorry Guernica but I got so into it I forgot my phone completely! Anyhows, posting the setlist is no problem.

Nice Set! Some of the variations, that weren't played towards the start of the tour all included in one go here... Masses, Marlon JD, Enola/Alone .. that I hope stay in the set and make appearances at some point for New York and/or Boston.

"Let Robeson Sing' could make a polite exit stage left for me at this point .. not that I particularly dislike the song, but in favor of others being included vs dropped ...

Some great anecdotes from this gig too ... any chance of a pic of this fab sounding drinks menu? Would love to see what they created.

I'd think they'd whup up some changes for NYC..I agree with "Robeson"..but both shows I saw it was enjoyable..what I'd like is a LONGER show.Remember those quotes from Nicky about "Springsteenish" like shows..meaning,longer than 90 minutes I'm sure.Let's see if they back that up.Autumn Song seems to be the one most of us want to hear, and after seeing/hearing it in Dublin,I'd say it'd be a great choice!!Y'all enjoy the show(s) in NYC and Beantown!

It was a brilliant set! I'll try and scan the menu when I get back to the UK. They were nothing exciting, it was literally a normal menu, but for the event they had Manic Street Preachers across the top! I was going to get James to sign mine but then he was just so gorgeous I forgot to do anything...

The photo I got with him was hilarious! We're both talking, both look hammered, and both look mid-important point!

haha, if you're hammered and still making important points, you're not hammered enough

and to whoever mentioned "Autumn Song": I saw it at the Roundhouse in May, and agree that it's definitely a song to hope for

You travelled over from the UK .... excellent stuff. I was talking to my girlfirend tonight about reading posts of people hopping over the pond (I'm originally from Manchester living over here now ... but had the compelling need to come back in that direction for a May show) and she's in absolute awe at the lengths we go to for the band we love

Good on the venue for "theming" (somewhat) the night nonetheless ... nice one Philly

Hahahaha .. thats excellent. I was able to get a somewhat decent pic with him in Seattle (that the Mrs took) right at the point he was giving me sh*t for not pronouncing "Llandudno" in its correct Welshness. The band as a whole have been fab about meet and greet havent they!

Harri, best gig report yet (although ooberfan's were pretty stellar too!)...short, sweet and very much to the point! That's the way I personally like 'em.

So glad you had a wonderful time! Have loads of fun in NYC!

Woo hoo! That's great news for the band and the fans! I knew New Yorkers wouldn't let them down!
New York sounds like it's going to be an amazing show...can't wait to hear the feedback on it! Have fun, kids!

Indeed, they were amazing! It was easily the longest I'd ever spoken to James and it was lovely! They were still all outside chatting when me and my friend headed back, even Sean! The first time I met James I was a nervous wreck but it was nice meeing him again and being relaxed enough to have a decent conversation. What a guy!

Yeah, Llundudno needs a bit of a 'Hhhhch" in the beginning...

I try, I try. I will have an awesome time in NYC, thanks!!! I'm looking foward to maybe having a barrier again actually. The tables kinda made me feel I was watching them in a classroom, and they were just too low to lean on for me. They made me look like I had a back problem and then suddenly I'm like 'What the hell do I do with my arms...?'

Great gig. Good to queue indoors for a change (my West Coast-ness is not used to the cold East Coast-ness). Lovely to meet Harrijack (I think I was over talking to Sean and/or James when you left. Will see you tomorrow. ) Bear Hands played the pot song just for her.

The 'barrier' was just some tables set in a line in front of the stage - convenient for setting jackets & bags on as well as sitting on. We decided we'd like some beverages so I got us a bottle of champers to enjoy. It really made Bear Hands more Bearable. And it was fun to have some champagne on the 'barrier'.

The gig was great and a lot of fun. Nice chats & photos after, even the elusive Sean (and yes, we got our MSP menus signed by Nicky)

I think my body is finally giving up against all the cold temperatures (not that it was cold today but for the last week it has been) and getting a cold. Still, we shall soldier on to NY tomorrow even if I have to have a box of Kleenex on the barrier instead of a bottle of champers.
