I love the Manics and I always have. But if you truly love a band, I mean truly, then you should be more than capable of judging their output objectively. I've never considered people who love everything a band does to be true fans, because it is just not possible to love every single song a band records. Even if there are songs you only like, that's a more honest position than saying you love evrything they do. As for me and the Manics output, I think the below list comprises a fairly accurate list of Manics songs that I don't like that much and rarely ever listen to:

Let Robeson Sing
My Guernica
The Girl Who Wanted To Be God
Nat West-Barclays-Midlands-Lloyds
Damn Dog
Antarctic
Gold Against The Soul
I'm Just A Patsy
Nostalgic Pushead
Door To The River
To Repel Ghosts
Baby Elian
So Why So Sad
Drug Drug Druggy
Symphony Of Tourette
I Live To Fall Asleep

And these are the few Manics songs that I actually hate and NEVER listen to:

The Ballad Of The Bangkok Novotel
Emily
Wattsville Blues
Miss Europa Disco Dancer
The Love Of Richard Nixon
Little Trolls
Picturesque

Everything else? Pure gold, in my books

How can you not like 'I Live To Fall Asleep'?! It's beautiful.

I'm Just A Patsy is good.
I do love a bit of Drug Drug Druggy but I can see how it can be disliked.
To Repel Ghosts is lovely too.

Now, Ballad Of The Bangkok Novotel is a brilliant song! But again, I can understand the hate for it.
I used to hate Emily but it's grown on me the more I've listened to it
I really like TLORN and I don't even know why.
Little Trolls is one of my favourite B-sides
Picturesque is lovely.

Everything else, I totally agree with.

Oh, and you forgot to include the hideousness that is SYMM. I understand if you didn't include it because you're trying to forget it ever existed.

I do honestly love everything the Manics have done and I've been a fan for over 10 years now. That love is in varying degrees with different songs obviously but I don't hate anything. I don't think that makes me 'not a real fan' at all! There's plenty of stuff by other bands that I absolutely despise, must be that Manics magic!

Hahaha. I always laugh when I hear that line. Just why Wire, why?

So Why So Sad wouldn't be nearly as bad if it wasn't for the "bah bah bah's" and the stylophone solo. For God sakes lads, STYLOPHONES NEVER SOUND GOOD NO MATTER WHERE THEY'RE USED.

SYMM, So Why So Sad and Fragments are all so brilliantly different from each other and have their own beauty to me!

And we love you, Tracey! Rock on with your blinkered self

There are a number of Manics songs that either leave me cold or that I actively dislike, but there many more that I like a lot without being passionate about, and many MANY more that I love more than I love almost everything else (except for the title track of Hemispheres and a few other songs by Rush! ).

My biggest gripe with the Manics -- overproduction. Too many effects on James's amazing voice, I'm looking at YOU!

I think:

1) SATT is 100% grade A shite.
2) EMG and GT are 60% shite.
3) KYE and Libelood are pretty good but still have around 40% of shite on them.
4) The Holy Bible and Journal For Plague Lovers are insanely tremendous rock albums.
5) GATS and TIMT are two of the best albums of all time.
