That was for the Roundhouse though. Im not even sure this is an Electric Proms gig, there's been a few just bog standard 'Radio 2 Presents...' gigs, Jamiroquai did one last month, dunno how tickets were obtained though.

SKON will no longer be the next single. It will be replaced by Don't Be Evil featuring Nicky as Santa. Sean will front a Salvation Army band with his trumpet. JDB will be eating the mince pies.

They've found a way to un-record Autumnsong and wipe the memories of all who have heard it.

Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Fell in love with that album this week, in a way I didn't when it first came out.

If it is the blackwood gig, I bet that even though it's almost on my doorstep, I'll not get to go. It's JDB in Newbridge all over again...

I like Autumnsong, actually, but that did make me laugh!

Being such a small venue, is the Miner's Institute likely to be radio announcement worthy?

Although it does appear to be hosting 'Caerphilly's Got Talent'.

It is if it's Radio 2's gig and tickets are through them

Believe me, this town hasn't got an inch of talent in it, Tommy Cooper used up our quota.

Hi there (first post here!)

Take a look here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pro...wk48/thu.shtml

BBC Radio 2 In Concert
Thursday 2 December
8.00-10.00pm BBC RADIO 2

Welsh rockers the Manic Street Preachers
Welsh rockers the Manic Street Preachers

Jo Whiley presents a headline gig from the Manic Street Preachers singing live from the Blackwood Miners Institute in Newport, Wales.

Following the success of singer-songwriter Paulo Nutini's local gig in his hometown of Paisley this summer, the Manics perform this exclusive home-coming gig for their fans and BBC Radio 2 listeners.

The Brit Award-winning Welsh band sing tracks from their latest album as well as some of their classic hits. Jo speaks to them about their incredible career and their musical roots in Blackwood. They are accompanied by a support act in the regular Support Slot.

The concert is performed in front of an audience who gained free tickets via the Radio 2 website at bbc.co.uk/radio2. Fans who didn't manage to get tickets can watch the concert streamed live on the Radio 2 website and enjoy the experience in both sound and vision.

Jo also looks back at all the best live music offered up on Radio 2 over the past week, and brings listeners the latest ticket news for up-and-coming tours in her Gig Guide. Listeners can contact Jo by emailing inconcert@bbc.co.uk.

Presenter/Jo Whiley, Producer/Radio 2 Live Music for the BBC
