12 if you include the 3 compilations and the solo albums; 17 including the reissues, and 18 if you include the next album!

I didn't look at it like that! You could increase the score even further if you count the compilations and reissues as double or triple, etc, albums too.

So great to see a Manics reference in a non-rock'n'roll article. These guys deserve more credit.

Great article on the Guardian. Honest. Apologies if this has already been mentioned, I'm not a massive manics follower anymore

Noticed on the Quietus website that there are two new Manics articles - a review of EMG, and an interview with Simon Price specifically about football.

Current 442 has a round-up of perhaps not entirely earnest reasons why Wales might win Euro 2016, one being that rock gods such as the Manics are on their side, mentions Together Stronger, Bobby Gould, Underdogs and the Manics offering to pay part of Terry Venables wages back in the day, which I hadn't heard.
Manics crop up again in an article about the Bobby Gould Wales era.

Genius Smash Hits journo Sylvia Patterson has a memoir thingy coming out this week which includes her time drinking with Richey...
"In 1986, Sylvia Patterson boarded a train to London armed with a tea-chest full of vinyl records, a peroxide quiff and a dream: to write about music, for ever. She got her wish. Escaping a troubled home, Sylvia embarks on a lifelong quest to discover The Meaning of It All. The problem is she's mostly hanging out with flaky pop stars, rock 'n' roll heroes and unreliable hip-hop legends. As she encounters music's biggest names, she is confronted by glamour and tragedy; wisdom and lunacy; drink, drugs and disaster. And Bros. Here is Madonna in her Earth Mother phase, flinging her hands up in horror at one of Sylv's Very Stupid Questions. Prince compliments her shoes while Eminem threatens to kill her. She shares fruit with Johnny Cash, make-up with Amy Winehouse and several pints with the Manics' lost soul-man Richey Edwards. She finds the Beckhams fragrant in LA, a Gallagher madferrit in her living room and Shaun Ryder and Bez as you'd expect, in Jamaica. From the 80s to the present day, I'm Not with the Band is a funny, barmy, utterly gripping chronicle of the last thirty years in music and beyond. It is also the story of one woman's wayward search for love, peace and a wonderful life. And whether, or not, she found them." https://www.amazon.co.uk/Im-Not-Band...+with+the+band |

The Manics are remembered exist, but Pink Floyd got the most attention in an NME story about Britannia Row studios being demolished. Fair really seeing as the Floyd made it.
But what did the Manics record at Britannia Row again? http://www.nme.com/news/pink-floyd/94698 More devastated FasterStudios is closing down! |
