I remember JCEQT at a PFYAM gig I went to. It seems perverse to not play anything from a critically well received album, but I've given up trying to understand the logic of how MSP set lists are put together.

I would have assumed there would be something journal related played on some of THB gigs, because they're kind of 'paired' albums.

Maybe it would be a little too much dwelling on what happened and upsetting for them.

Ram as many singles in, but only the old ones. Then add in one or two 'fan favourites' to please the non casuals.

I say it should all be fan favourites so we can watch all the casuals little faces drop when Patrick Bateman starts being played ( ) and they realise they can't go, get pissed and only sing half the chorus of ADFL.

Maybe we should campaign for James to do a solo tour with a full band and play a different album every night? He's clearly the one who yearns to vary it up!

I don't know about that, his solo tour seemed to consist of half manics songs, the typical hits.

JDB played Ocean Spray and Design For Life, the Wire played Condemned to Rock N Roll.

Ocean Spray made sense on a solo tour, given it was pretty much all his anyway.

As for ADFL, I hath nay defence...

JDB played...

This Is Yesterday
Small Black Flowers
From Despair To Where
Ocean Spray
No Surface All Feeling
Design For Life
Kevin Carter
Motorcycle Emptiness
Archives of Pain

when i saw him Cambridge it was 7 out of 17 songs, so not quite half. I think the Wire was guilty of a few too, but it seemed like James was missing the manics more and he didn't really pick rare song choices.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am about to burst right now, I love EMG. Taking into account the turnout for THB when there was no big radio friendly single for people to latch onto, just imagine how many venues they'd fill when people know that the album with ADFL (and other favourites) will be on the road
