Standing tickets still available for Monday from https://tickets.royalalberthall.com - seem to be less fees than ticketmaster/see too.

I've got standing tickets for Leeds. I'm so happy because I missed out on THB tour. I don't know how quick the tickets will go but some of the higher level prices there are ridiculous. I think standing is better. I can't wait to see the Manics play EMG.

That's good and also annoying because when I tried the RAH site at 9.30ish they had no standing tickets on sale, just seats. So I paid G&T almost £8 extra for my ticket. It's nice RAH aren't so extortionate on fees as the big boys.

Birmingham ticket booked! I'm happy with seated. Don't think the ol' bod can cope with being crushed these days and no doubt the idiots will be out en mass for EMG!

I don't notice crushes at Manics gigs anymore, not since the 90s. There were some moshes on the original EMG tour, but even they were mild compared to the GATS tour. EMG is musically much softer than what came before it in their catalogue. In recent years everyone seems to watch the Manics fairly obediently. Was even the case at the Holy Bible 20 shows last year, which surprised me.

You do unfortunately still get some idiots who ruin it for those around them, particularly if you're on the first couple of rows. I've had a couple of unpleasant incidents and I know other people who had their night ruined (a lot more recently than the 90's), so it does still happen, particularly at larger capacity gigs. So I can understand why seats might seem more appealing.

Once was quite enough for me! (If James had come rushing out to me all concerned I might have given it another go! )

Yes, this does happen, but it's not like a whole army of young tanked up guys barging their way to the front and then causing crowd sway - thereby ruining everyone's experience except their own. In the 90s you had to deal with a kick in the head or a punch in the back due to all the crowd surfing guys liked to partake in too.

Had crowd sway at Brum NIA 2007 (slightly!) and a crowd surfer briefly caused a pain in my neck at one of the Wolves gigs. I've usually coped ok but last time was a bit too much obviously!

I remember the surge when they came on stage for the final GATS show in London. I got punched hard 3 times in the back and then kicked in the head and my glasses bent by a crowd surfer before James had even begun singing the first verse of Motown Junk (which was the first song). The good old days, eh?

I don't know if it's that we're older, or the fact that ticket prices have become so high that only those of a certain income go to the gigs now? I think internet ticket sales play a huge part too - basically people with fast internet connections get first bite of the cherry. We had to queue at the box office to get tickets back in the 90s.
